I lost 4 pounds in 5 days. I’m on Day 7 of my diet now and the “rapid weight loss” is starting to slow down. We all know those last 10 pounds hang on for dear life… *sigh*
Attack Phase:
- Day 1 – I weighed in at 127.8 lbs (12 lbs over goal weight)
- Day 2 – I weighed in at 125.0 lbs (10 lbs over goal weight)
- Day 3 – I weighed in at 124.2 lbs (9 lbs over goal weight)
- Day 4 – I weighed in at 124.2 lbs (9 lbs over goal weight)
Cruise Phase:
- Day 5 – I weighed in at 123.2 lbs (8 lbs over goal weight)
- Day 6 – I weighed in at 123.2 lbs (8 lbs over goal weight)
- Day 7 – I weighed in at 124.0 lbs (insert expletives here)

Yes, no post for Day 6! I went to a baby shower for a good friend of mine and ended up helping serve food and then help with cleanup, so I was gone most of the day and didn’t have time to write about Day 6. I was able to stick firmly to my diet at the party, which was a feat in itself because I’ll tell ya, there was SO MUCH FOOD and at least 80% of it was definitely NOT on my diet. I plethora of cookies, cakes, pastries, south american dishes with rice and beans, rolls, buns, candy, pasta salad, other compound salads, omg, omg, omg………. It was HARD! But I stuck close by the veggie platter (no dip!) and then had a chicken breast off the grill. I was suffering watching everyone eat cake which is one of the reason I opted to wash dishes so I wouldn’t have to look!!!!!!!
Now I’m on Day 7 and a little discouraged because not only did I not lose any weight over the weekend, but when I got on the scale today, I GAINED a pound! I’m told by Dukan coaching that this is ok and normal during the cruise phase. It’s JUST WATER WEIGHT and when I get back to the Pure Protein days, I will see my weight go down again. I’ll hang on to that promise this week and hope I pull through….
Allegedly, once you add vegetables into your diet on the Cruise phase, you gain back a little of the water weight that you lost during the Attack Phase. During the Cruise Phase you alternate between days of pure protein (like the attack phase) and days of protein and vegetables, which is what I have been doing since Saturday.
Honestly, it’s raining today and cold and I’m feeling a little low on the motivation scale today. I really just want to sit down with a nice, hot cup of coffee with CREAM and a little plate of pancakes with maple syrup. OH how I miss pancakes….. But I know that won’t help my end goal, so I am going to stay strong.
I’ll go drink some more water and eat a piece of meat.
If you want to try this diet out for yourself, just grab a copy of The Dukan Diet: 2 Steps to Lose the Weight, 2 Steps to Keep It Off Forever and The Dukan Diet Cookbook: The Essential Companion to the Dukan Diet
. Honestly, this is one of the easiest diets I’ve ever been on. The instructions are simple, all you have to do is listen. I believe that anyone with even a tiny bit of willpower and self control, can succeed on this diet.

This is raw footage into my personal weight loss experience, I just received the books and a couple Dukan products to “review” which is helping me on my own personal journey.
