When a family has a teen going through issues that are holding them back, it can feel impossible to find the right solution. Looking at residential treatment centers can seem repetitive, but Elevations RTC has spent a long time putting together a campus where families can feel comfortable sending their children.
What makes the campus different from other treatment options, as well as other campuses? By having a variety of resources on campus and the right amount of support to maximize all it has to offer, students can start the road to success from day one.
A purposeful campus
Elevations RTC created their campus with one thing in mind: to provide the best environment possible for troubled teens. The goal was to create a living experience that is not much different from real life. As challenging as that might sound, it pays huge dividends in easing students into the campus and, in turn, helping them to transition well back home.
New students have less of a chance of dealing with long adjustment times. Campuses that are vastly different from where a person is coming from can be a culture shock for a lot of students. When dealing with so many other issues being from home, doubting the campus set up is not something a teenager needs to go through.
When teenagers first move in, they notice that Elevations is different from most residential treatment centers. It is an all-gender program that allows students to learn, eat, spend free time, and live with teenagers facing the same issues. Instead of feeling like the exception to the rule, everyone is striving for a better future.
Why all genders are welcome
A common approach from many residential treatment centers is to offer a male-only or female-only option. Elevations believes that this is not a true reflection of ordinary, day-to-day life, and should not be the case in a treatment center.
Having a gender-inclusive campus means that everyone is accepted as equals. There is zero tolerance for any behavior that attempts to put a student down. Creating strong support within can build up each individual as the months go on.
Safety
Smaller campuses can feel very limiting to those who have never experienced a residential treatment center. Elevations made sure to build a spacious campus, and students have the opportunity to have alone time as well as spend time with others. This can all be done safely in an environment that is isolated from any potential distractions.
One of the biggest problems for any teenager dealing with an issue is falling into past bad habits. Students are safe on campus, and no one from the outside can contact them without permission from the family. This is for safety as much as it is for staying on track.
Parents naturally have a lot of concerns when it comes to safety at residential treatment centers. It is tough enough for parents to be separated from their children for months at a time, but any safety doubts can cause many headaches. Campus officials take every precaution necessary to make sure that everyone on the premises is safe throughout the day. Security works 24 hours a day, seven days a week to properly handle any issues that may arise.
Something for everyone
Outside of the classroom, a proper campus must have options so that teenagers do not become bored after a few weeks. The campus experience spans to the point that there are plenty of opportunities for students to explore anything they wish.
The spacious campus has locations where people can have fun with snow-related activities in the winter, hit the gym, explore the arts, or any other hobby that might be of interest. There is scheduled downtime throughout the week, and the last thing Elevations RTC wanted was to take on a bunch of bored teenagers isolated on the campus. Giving variety is a significant key so that teenagers can explore different options and find what works best for them.
Easy for family visits
The majority of students enrolled at Elevations RTC come from all corners of the United States. However, that does not mean their families are prohibited from visiting throughout the year. As long as families schedule a time to visit the campus, they can explore all that it has to offer as well.
The campus is very inviting for families to visit and experience a typical day with their teenager. They have a chance to talk with teachers to get progress reports, and they can talk with the medical staff to understand current evaluations.
Having a campus that encourages visits from family means Elevations RTC has nothing to hide. They offer positive solutions that families can truly benefit from, and they make a major difference in the development process. Families are going through a lot during this time, so they need all the support they can get to combat feelings of isolation.
Constant improvements on campus
To remain a top campus compared to other residential treatment centers, Elevations RTC can never stay stagnant. They are continually adding new features to the campus and expanding as much as possible. Whether it is new activities to do on downtime or technological improvements for learning in the classroom, the campus gets upgrades every year. Those improvements keep Elevations at the top of the list for the best campus setting in the industry.
