So I have recently discovered Boscia, a preservative-free skin care line. Obviously there are a million, trillion different skin care lines that you, me, our sisters and our mothers can try so I said to myself, “What makes Boscia different? And what is so special about skin care being preservative free?” Well, apparently there are no known benefits to adding preservatives to our skin care items. Preservatives “preserve” and often extend the life of a products beyond what it would be naturally- even beyond what may be necessary. Preservatives have been known to cause skin irritations from mild to severe and can affect your skin from eczema to Rosacea to blemishes. Does this mean I will harshly scrutinize ever product I buy? Probably not but hey, if it’s preservative-free, I’ll call it a bonus!
So anyway, I thought I would try some of the Boscia products out and of all of them, my favorite had to be the Boscia Pore Purifying Black Strips.

Remove the strip from outer pouch. Wash face, leaving nose thoroughly wet. The strip will not adhere to dry skin. With dry hands, remove the clear lining from the smooth side of the strip and apply across the bridge of the nose, pressing down firmly to ensure maximum contact. Let dry for 15 minutes or until the strip has hardened. Slowly peel off strip from outer edges, lifting toward the center of the nose. Rinse away any residue with warm water. Do not exceed usage of 1 to 2 times per week.
My thoughts?
Well, it’s been a long time since I attempted to “clear” my pores in the nose region. I do my best to wash and exfoliate regularly but can’t say that I have used any type of pore strips before (or anything specialized towards removing yuck from the outer nose). Once, I got past the awkward application (partly due to my lack of reading the directions and apparently due to the awkward shape of my nose), I was well on my way to looking a bit silly but also noticing that this strip was working hard to latch on to any of the grossness my pores were hanging on to. Here, let me explain what I mean. The strip is applied to wet skin so as it is drying you can feel the strip tightening onto the dirt and grime that your skin has been saving up. Once you gently pull the strip away, you can see that there is a noticeable difference in skin clarity. I am fortunate enough not to have really oily skin so I would be interested to see how this product works for those less fortunate. As for this medium skin kind of girl? I definitely noticed that there was some dead skin on that strip when it pulled away.ย These strips really do the trick and the result is what is claims to be.
