Nails: Duri Cosmetics ‘Dream Catcher’ Lavender Nail Polish Swatch

I polished my nails for #purplenailsforboston – a trend on instagram in the wake of the horrific terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon on Monday.

This is my first time using Duri nail polish and it certainly won’t be my last. I absolutely love the brush, the application was easy, two coats were perfection and it didn’t chip before I got a top coat on! That’s a total win in my book.

The shade I’m wearing is called “Dream Catcher” and it’s very Coachella-style as well as being perfect for spring. It’s one of the new colors from their Spring/Summer 2013 collection and probably my favorite.

I’ve only had it on for a little over 24 hours and no chips so far, so I’m quite pleased. Will update with any negative findings (if there are any!).

Screwed Up Your Manicure? #Itsallgood

Normally, I’m pretty good at at-home manicures. If you follow me on instagram then you know I have a pretty good hand when it comes to polishing my nails. However, today… I’m a train wreck!

For some reason, they are sloppy, got nicks, bangs, dents, I got it on my skin and my french tips are pretty uneven. I don’t know what’s with me today! But don’t worry, it’s all good!!! I totally saved the day with my Sharpie Metallic Fine Point Permanent Markers!

Certainly not my best work, but at least I don’t have to start all over from the beginning and can enjoy this manicure for a couple days.

Products Used:

Silver Marker from Sharpie Metallic Fine Point Permanent Markers 3-pack

Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Tickled Pink and Go Go Mango.

TIP: Metallic Sharpie Markers wear off, so as soon as it dries, lightly spray with hairspray (hold can about a foot away), let dry and follow immediately with a thick layer of clear topcoat. Be careful not to use too many brushstrokes when applying the top coat because you could still smear the sharpie marker! The hairspray DOES help hold it down though.

Easter Nails: Jamberry Basket Weave Nail Shields

If you have a great set of finger nails and would love to show off some cool easter-themed nail art, then you might want to give Jamberry Nails a shot.

I got the Basket Weave Nail Shields to review for Easter and I think they look super cute…

I polished my ring fingers with 2 coats of Essie Turquoise and Caicos.

Then I did one coat of Nicole by OPI Gold Texture Polish which I didn’t realize was crackle nail polish until it DRIED and I was left with a surprise! I thought about redoing those nails because I actually wanted them to have gold glitter but my almost-6-year-old daughter told me they looked awesome like this, so I left it.
