  1. I thought the dress was perfect for her figure, height and shape. Personally, I don’t like it for myself, but I don’t have her height or shape and I’m not the first lady. LOL

What impressed me the most about this whole fashion thing is that Mrs. Obama chose an up-and-coming designer rather than some couture “already established” famous name designer like all the other former first ladies did. This really impressed me probably because I used to be a struggling clothing designer myself. She actually dared to be different and NOT go with a typical big name designer and I love that she decided to do that. This is one decision that already makes her look like a “people person” and “approachable” rather than aloof or snooty. Good for her and I applaud her choice. Mr. Wu must be thrilled – good for him too !!

  2. Michelle O looked stunning, however the color choice surprised me. I love the fact that she choose a gown from an up and coming designer, in a way she will have some influence in the up coming seasons in fashion!

  3. I have loathed everything I have seen the woman in until very recently. The yellow dress and coat she wore on the preinaugural train tour was tasteful and modest. I liked it.
The dress she wore for the inaugural ball was lovely. I could have done without the single strap. Wouldn’t it have looked better with two straps or none? She has such well defined and beautiful shoulders, I think that she could have tastefully done strapless. I do credit the designer, fabulous work and fit her figure extremely well.

  4. I couldn’t wait to read your article to see your thoughts! I thought the James Wu gown was a perfect color choice and very elegant on Michelle Obama. However, I did not think the Isabel Toledo dress or color was a great choice for the morning. I especially did not like the green shoes and matching gloves. I felt the morning choice could have been much more PATRIOTIC. Red, Navy or Royal Blue would have been my choice!
