After raising more than $1.5M in crowdfunding to bring the Knix Evolution Bra to the market, you can now purchase the bra that everyone has been talking about!
If you are looking for the be-all and end-all to bras, this is it. We’ve spent years looking for the perfect bra and couldn’t find it, because it didn’t exist yet! Thankfully, Knix Wear has created the bra we all wanted and have been searching for.
I got the opportunity to try one one of Knixwear Evolution 8-IN-1 Bra for myself! I chose the padded version in graphic lace on one side and black on the reverse.
Let’s take a look at the KnixWear Evolution Bra…
I’m going to do a little photo unboxing of the KnixWear Evolution Bra so you can see what it’s all about!
First off, it comes packaged in what looks like a zippered lingerie bag that perhaps you can wash the bra in. That would be my guess! I was so excited to see the bra that I didn’t read any of the enclosed papers that came with it. :-P
I took the box out of the mesh bag and was immediately impressed by the packaging. Not every bra comes packed neatly in a cute little box! You can see that they clearly paid attention to every detail.
As soon as I opened the box and saw the cool graphic lace print, I fell in love with it. At the same time, it suddenly registered in my mind, “Oh wait, it’s reversible! Oh crap. I should have gotten the black / beige combo. Duh.”
Oooops.
Regardless, the graphic lace print is fantastic! Very modern and attractive. Obviously the print would show through sheer clothing which may or may not be a good thing. All depends on your outfit!
The bra comes with an additional set of straps for further versatility, but again, this made me think that I should have picked the black / beige combo! Aaaaah, hindsight is 20/20, right?
Here is the reverse side of solid black…
The ability to wear the bra reversed is just genius. It makes it so that you only need to bring one bra when you go on vacation. That is, if you get the black / beige combo. (Again, regretting getting the graphic print, even though it’s very pretty!)
When you want to wear the bra inside out, the padded cups inverse without any effort. Amazingly, they hold their shape even with their ability to inverse. That technology alone is quite amazing. I mean, just trying turning any of your other bras inside out and see what happens. I wish I knew what the pads inside of this bra look like! They are seamlessly held within the bra and not removable. You can, however, reposition them slightly if you need to because they are floating within the fabric layers. They do not feel like they are made of the same thing that most removable bra pads are made out of. It’s more rigid than ordinary bra pads, but not in an uncomfortable way. Very unique!
Here is the clincher though… When you aren’t wearing the bra and it’s just laying flat, the outer fabric wrinkles up a bit. This made me wonder what it would look like once I got the bra ON. It clearly looks like you your breast will fill up the cup and press out the wrinkles once the bra is on, however this was quite concerning for me. After nursing 3 kids, I do not have firm, perky boobies anymore. So, unfortunately I was skeptical if my boobs would have what it takes to get the wrinkles out of the bra.
Thankfully, (?!) I just barely have enough going on to press out the wrinkles, but I can see this being a problem for women with small breasts. After reading other reviews as well, this does appear to be an issue for women with very small breasts. If your boobs are bigger than a 34A, this most likely will not be a problem for you, however if you are a 34A or smaller, your boobs might not be substantial enough to push out the wrinkles.
I got this bra in a size 1, which is the smallest size you can get this bra in. Right now, I’m wearing 34A (ish) bras since I stopped nursing my two year old and lost over 30 pounds. Just 6 months ago, I was wearing size 34B/C! My boobs would have fit in this bra perfectly back then and would have been large enough to push out the wrinkles in the fabric. I only wish I had been able to try this bra out a few months ago when my breasts were a little bigger! (If only we could choose where we lost our weight from when dieting, eh?!)
Now, normally when I review a bra I do NOT take pictures of myself actually wearing the bras I review. There is just something about posing in a bra makes me a little self conscious! I’m no model, so I feel like stock photos generally do better justice for things like undergarments. However, I felt like this bra deserved a real picture of it being worn on a real body so you could really see how it fits…
So here ya go…
Overall, I have to say I really like this bra. It’s lightweight, very comfortable, versatile, supportive, seamless and flattering under clothes. After trying this bra, I can clearly see why so many women are in love with the Evolution Bra. They are actually designed with real women’s bodies in mind! None of that froo froo crap with lace and seams and uncomfortable wires. This bra is the real deal and once you try one on, you’ll get it.
Would I personally go and purchase a second one? Honestly, I would have to say yes and no. I absolutely would, if my boobs were slightly bigger. However, at the size and shape they are right now, I don’t feel like this bra is ideal for me. I feel like the cups are just a little bit too big for my breasts, which is a common problem for women with small breasts, but admittedly, I am aware that I have very small breasts and barely even “need” a bra. I don’t feel like this is the bra’s fault. It just isn’t made for women with little to no breasts! Like I said, for anyone with breasts comfortably fitting within the 34A to 42DD category though, you are seriously going to LOVE this bra!
I can see from other reviews and from the pictures on the website and kickstarter that this bra is designed for the everywoman. I believe that most women are going to find that this bra fits them perfectly and is the bra they’ve been looking for their whole life!
Honestly, this is one of the most comfortable bras I’ve ever owned. It’s so smooth and silky against the skin, doesn’t pinch or bunch up, stays in place all day and keeps the girls lifted and separated. You won’t get uniboob with this bra like you do with sports bras. I have to compare it to a sports bra because that’s literally how comfortable it is. You won’t get that smooshed together feeling like you do with sports bras though. The fabric and shape of the cups keeps the girls supported and comfortably separated without the need for an underwire. This is truly a revolution in design that we just haven’t seen before.
With the KnixWear Evolution Bra, it’s one of the first bras I wasn’t dying to take off by the end of the day. If you get the right size, you will undoubtedly find this bra so incredibly comfortable, you will forget you are wearing it. I know I did.
Now, are you ready to get one for yourself? Please consult the Bra Sizing Chart below along with instructions on measuring. Don’t just order based on your usual bra size because chances are, you aren’t wearing the right bra size anyway. Yeah, I said it. We previously discussed how more than 75% of women are wearing the wrong bra size. Isn’t that insane?! That’s why it’s so important to have a professional bra fitting. If you haven’t been professionally fitted recently, then seriously, go grab a tape measure and actually measure yourself before purchasing one of these bras.
They come in 3 different color combos and are available in unpadded and padded. I personally would have to recommend the padded version as I like the extra modestly for the nipples and gentle shaping that the padded cups provide.
