When you’re having a good hair day, this can make you feel confident, super attractive and sexy. Everyone wants to have strong and shiny hair, but achieving this is very difficult to do. For that reason, you have to make sure that you take into account the hair care regime that you have now, as well as finding out if there is anything that you can do to boost the quality of your hair in general.
Shampooing
The first thing that you need to do is focus on the type of hair that you have. If you have hair that is dry, oily or even a combination of them both then you will need to use a specific type of shampoo to try and rectify this. It also helps to shampoo your hair every other day as well. If you have dry hair or if you have balayage hair then consider getting a hot oil massage done half an hour before you are due to shampoo your hair. It is also very important that you don’t shampoo without using conditioner right after. To prevent your hair drying out after, dilute the shampoo before using it and rinse it out within 30 seconds of applying it.
There is a common myth that your hair becomes accustomed to certain types of shampoo over time, and when this happens, the shampoo itself doesn’t work as well. This isn’t true at all, and even though build-up does occur, it’s not the result of your hair becoming used to the shampoo you use. If you want to combat the build-up then consider mixing some baking soda with your shampoo every 2 months, before continuing use as normal.
Minimising Breakage
If you want to minimise breakage then make sure that your hair is 100% wet before you apply the shampoo. To get a soft finish, spray some hairspray into your palm before running it through your hair. It also helps to make sure that you have accessories that don’t damage your hair at all, and this includes flower clips, hair pins and more.
Rinsing
Never pour really hot water onto your hair. This is because it will get rid of any natural oil that is in your hair. You should use lukewarm water and then use shampoo and conditioner. When you have done this, use cold water. You can even use steeped tea if you want to add a glossy sheen to your hair. This works wonders for those who have dry or damaged hair.
Drying
Never use a hairdryer to dry your half-wet hair. Make sure that you let your hair fully air dry. If you have to style it quickly then use a towel instead. It also helps to wrap the towel around your hair as opposed to rubbing your hair with it, as the towel will absorb the moisture quicker and it will also help you to avoid any breakages as well. There are plenty of heat-resistant products available for you to choose from and this is a great way for you to make sure that you don’t dry your hair out if you do have to use a hairdryer.
