Join us as we celebrate National Swimsuit Confidence Week! We are one of over 100 bloggers that are celebrating women of all shapes and sizes by posting pictures of ourselves wearing our Lands’ End swimsuits in hopes of inspiring other women to have fun this summer and get off the beach chair with confidence!
I don’t tell just anybody this, but I’m going to go out on a limb and share some personal details!
I am in my late 20’s, have two children ages 20mos and 41/2. I am 5’2″ and currently weigh 127 lbs. (And that picture was taken today!)
I have lost 36 pounds since the birth of my second child. I am happy to finally be fitting back into my size 6 (27) jeans again just in the past month. I am currently just trying to eat healthy and walk everyday but I do not currently workout regularly nor am I on a special diet. (Though I am still nursing my 20 month old son.)
I know lots of moms that have two kids and look a lot better than me in a swimsuit, but I try not to let that affect how I feel about myself. I don’t think I took too horrible in a swimsuit, right?!
You have to feel good about yourself. I know I probably will never look like a Victoria Secret supermodel again (and am probably lucky I ever did at one point in my life)! But I’m okay with that. I have two beautiful children that have enriched and changed my life in beautiful (and not so beautiful) ways! hehe
My Advice…
Always remember to eat healthy! My personal rule is eat what my body wants, not what my tongue wants. Sure I love cupcakes as much as the next gal, but I always remind myself that it’s not like they are going out of style or like we are ever going to have a shortage of that sugary goodness! So don’t be tempted by all the food loveliness you see on Pinterest. Eat to live, don’t live to eat. And don’t find excuses not to exercise. We are only on this earth for a short while and we should be more concerned about keeping ourselves healthy than indulging in things that aren’t good for us.
One of the other things that make me feel confident in a swimsuit is the flattering fit of Lands’ End swimwear. They have a great selection of swimsuits that you can mix and match. You can even shop by “problem area” to help conceal the parts that bother you most. I chose a scoopneck tankini to cover my stomach since I still have at least 10 more pounds I’d like to lose and the high waist bottom helps hold in that little belly blob that that situps haven’t eliminated yet. I absolutely LOVE this swimsuit and can’t wait till we uncover our pool so I can take it for a real test drive!
