A couple of weeks ago, I got an email offering free shipping plus 20% off at Piperlime, which was particularly timely since I needed another pair of shoes for an upcoming trip to Mexico.ย I wanted a sandal with a bit of a heel, something polished enough to go with casual dresses at dinner but suitable for days of walking and wandering.ย
I stumbled upon the perfect pairโ the kind of shoes I could envision myself wearing while marketing in Mazatlan and slipping on for cocktails in Cabo.ย And what luck!ย They were already marked down to $39.99, which made them a cool $31.99 with my discount!ย I was just about to add them to my cart when I spotted a scary word hovering above the product description: CROCS.ย ย
Letโs just say that Iโve never been a fan of Crocs.ย Their signature clunky styling and lollipop colors add up to a big NO in my book, even if fans insist theyโre the most comfortable shoes ever created.ย Because letโs face it: when someoneโs primary description of an item is โso comfortable,โ chances are itโs pretty ugly.ย ย
So I felt some serious hesitation about purchasing the Crocs Havanas, part of the new, more fashion-forward Crocs line. ย It didn’t matter that I liked the picture; it was like ordering onion ice cream– I just couldn’t fathom that the result would be good. ย But since I had free shipping and free returns, I decided to roll the dice. ย ย
ย
And I am very glad I did! ย The moment I slipped them on I told my husband, “Oh my God, these are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn.” ย They have cushioning in all the right places, so even though I’m wearing a 3″ heel, I feel like I’m just floating along. ย Seriously- I can walk for miles in them. ย And while no one would mistake them for cutting edge couture, they are perfectly cute and versatile, which is just what I need them to be. ย An added bonus: since they have that rubbery Crocs sole, I can put them in the tub and wash them. ย Like I said, I’m not aย Crocs aficionado, so I have no idea if that’s recommended, but it works for me! ย
