Understanding The Proper Care Of Eyelashes

For many people the eyes are considered the windows to the soul. If that is the case, it must mean that the eyelashes are the curtains!

Other than splashing on some mascara on the eyelashes, most people give them no other concern. However, one should. Eyelashes are essential in protecting the eyes from foreign objects, plus when your eyelashes are looking good you will have higher confidence.

On National Lash Day which is celebrated on Feb.19th, we got many questions about the proper care of eyelashes and ensure that they always look good.

So let’s look at some of these answers and ensure that those luscious lashes are always looking good.

Should we take daily care of our eye lashes? For the healthiest lashes possible, you should fully clean your face, especially around the eye area before heading to bed. Find special cleaners that are designed for the eyes and always use a gentle sponge to remove makeup and dirt. When you apply makeup or take makeup off, try not to tug at the eyelashes. Before bedtime, one of the most important aspects is to use a form of conditioning serum on the face.

Is there one specific mistake that people make that leads to the loss of lashes?

One of the major mistakes people make is rubbing the eyes or picking mascara off. When you are too aggressive with mascara, it can lead to the loss of lashes.

What are the best ways to promote the growth of lashes?

You should use a lash conditioning serum that will help to promote length, density, as well as the increase in the diameter of natural lashes.

Are there any ingredients that are dangerous when buying mascara?

Try your best to avoid mascara that includes ethel alcohol as this leads to lashes that are dry and brittle and can break easily. Find the mascara that is free of phthalates and parabens for the proper care of eyeslahes.

What is the best way to keep lashes healthy and clean?

Always use a gentle cleanser on your lashes on a daily basis. Baby shampoo is one of the best alternatives and it is gentle on the eyes. Always try to avoid sharing makeup with other individuals in an effort to avoid contamination for the proper care of eyelashes.

Is eyelash dandruff real?

Lash dandruff is simply flaking eyelids. However, this can come from a number of things including, allergies to various eye makeup products, Seborrheic dermatitis (an overgrowth of yeast), Blepharitus which is a chronic inflammation that is due to bacteria as well as the autoimmune problem known as Sjogren’s syndrome. Any individual that is dealing with any of these possible disorders should seek help from a local ophthalmologist if they really want to manage the proper care of eyelashes.
