I was able to try a sample of Stiletto by Nicole Amy, and was really eager to love the scent. You’ll find my complete review below, as well as purchase information.
First Impressions
When I first took a whiff of Stiletto, I liked the way it smelled in the bottle. It was a little bit powdery with hints of musk, and seemed suitable for both day or evening wear. When I sprayed it on my wrist, I waited a few minutes to see how the fragrance would react to my body chemistry. Unfortunately, I was not happy. The various notes of musk, vanilla and sandalwood, while ordinarily a great combination, did not work well with my body chemistry.
After a few hours, I smelled the perfume again and was surprised – the fragrance had faded to a soft, powdery scent that actually did smell great on my skin. If it could smell like that from the get-go, Stiletto would be a fragrance I would wear on a regular basis. Regrettably, I can’t get past how it smells before it gets to that point.
Overall
Let me be clear – I am not writing a negative review about Stiletto. The concept is a great one – a luxury perfume in a cute, fashionable stiletto-shaped bottle with an affordable price. The various fragrance notes work well together and smell great in the bottle, just not on my skin.
I think if you are a woman who tends to wear musky, earthy scents you will love Stiletto. It’s a unique perfume and I am disappointed it didn’t work for me – but I stand by the quality of the product. My body chemistry may have reacted negatively to Stiletto, but it is a quality fragrance and very long lasting.
You can purchase Stiletto by Nicole Amy here for $42 for a 1.7 oz. bottle. It’s a great fall fragrance, but unfortunately it just didn’t work for me. If you try Stiletto, let me know what you thought of it!
