Gone are the days of gaping waist bands and super-snug thighs— Right Fit jeans take the guesswork out of shopping for a new pair of jeans and answers the prayers of millions of plus-size women. Right Fit divides plus-size women into three distinct categories based on individual body shape and size — not just the size that fits your largest body part. A Yellow body type is straight from the waist through the hips. Women with a Red fit are slightly curved from the waist to the hips. A woman with a Blue body type has a small waist and is fullest at the hips.
For the first time in more than 60 years, the most extensive sizing study was recently conducted by Lane Bryant. Over the course of three years, Lane Bryant used cutting edge technology to scan 14,000 women’s bodies and compiled the data to give their design team precise and scientific information about how plus-size bodies are shaped and how to fit those bodies.
In addition to this cutting edge fit breakthrough, Lane Bryant is aiding the customer’s ability to find her correct size. Based on the new design of hip/waist ratio in the construction of the jeans, a woman’s typical jeans size can be completely different than what she has previously worn thus, a completely new sizing system was born. Right Fit jeans will be available in sizes 1 to 8 — representing her size number to go along with her new color and customized shape.
Rightfit.com, an interactive website where customers can learn more about the technology behind Right Fit’s products, will also include a quick and easy to use sizing calculator to help customers discover her size, shape and color.
Right Fit jeans are available under the Venezia label at Lane Bryant in different styles: classic, flare and boot cut; lengths: petite, average and tall; and washes: light rinse, medium vintage, dark blast, and dark rinse.

Be careful to note that the Right Fit jean sizes are not conventional sizes! A size 4 Right Fit Jeans are actually more like a 18. I think their unconventional sizing method is great for women, who can proudly and honestly say they wear a size 4, when it’s really a size 18! (Don’t worry, we won’t tell!)

I have bought the so called right fit jeans and they still don’t make a fit for everyone because I tried the different styles in different sizes and none fit very good at all. They were either too big or too small. Some were even too low. I don’t get why they make low rise jeans for plus size women. I mean who wants to let their stomach hang out of the top of their pants! The associates in the store even helped me and they commented that they probably should have made an orange or purple color for the women in between like me.
A good well fitting pair of jeans can be both complementary and flattering; they can be a girls’ best friend! Customizable jeans sounds like a super idea, thanks for the info
I have always had a difficult time finding jeans that fit. My hips are about 10″ bigger than my waist. So I had to buys jeans that fit my hips and the waist was always too big. I was constantly pulling them up.
I tried my first pair of Right Fit jeans about a year ago. I love them!!! I have never found a jean that seemed to be tailored to me. I even had people asking if I had lost weight. I had to answer “No, my jeans just fit.”
I have multiple pairs now and don’t even try any other brands.
I have tried these and they are great. 5 Yellow fits perfect. Got couple pair from Catherines and Boot Cut Pair from Lane Bryant.
Only downside is they are somewhat spendy.

Just tried on my first pair of Right Fit jeans. I was in the market for a trouser-style jean as they are very flattering, especially on a pear-shaped body like mine. (In Right Fit terms, that makes me a RED.) In the past, I’ve had to buy a size 22 to fit my hips, but with this style, I wore the equivalent of an 18! They’re very slimming. At Lane Bryant they were on sale for $29.99 and I even had a $15 coupon. What a deal! I’ll be shopping for Right Fit jeans and slacks from now on!
