Outfit Inspirations: Purple Accessories
Purple is SO hot this fall, I keep bumping into it everywhere. But I will be honest, every so often a trend comes along that I can only partially identify with. Sure, I am ooggling with the rest over the deep and varied hues of purple in shoes, purses, tops, bottoms, dresses and everywhere in between. But something in me feels like I can’t commit.
But in an effort to not be left out – I decided to at least a dash of purple couldn’t hurt.

Small accessories are a perfect way to try out a new color or style that maybe you wouldn’t usually gravitate towards or pick out of a crowd. In this case, purple can be so easily paired with a neutral like black. Then once you carry, say the clutch, a couple of times and decide you like it, you can start integrating the color and the accessories into your wardrobe easily.
Do you ever have any hesitancy in trends? How do you move past it?
Yeah, I have trouble jumping on board with some trends… Like the plaid shirts right now… really popular and I see a lot of girls (besides Lindsay Lohan) that look great pulling off that style, I just don’t think I can work it without looking like a total frump!!!
Haven’t quite figured out if I should bother getting over my fear on this one… Might not be worth trying!
However, purple…. now purple I can do! At least 1/4 of my wardrobe is purple and it’s my favorite color so I have no problem rocking that trend. :-)
I am feeling you on the tartan-prep look. I don’t know what I am going to do about that one. It is starting to show up all over the place… hmmm. We’ll have to maybe brainstorm on ways to make that work.
I know you love purple though from reading – you are fearless purple-purchaser!
I love the old adage “If in doubt, go without”. If you don’t truly love it then forget it. Another trend will come along very soon and you can try something else out. Besides it’s best to stick to classics and only have a few “budget friendly trendy” things to mix and match. Who wants to be stuck with a whole wardrobe of expensive trendy items that won’t be trendy next year.
