Ormonde Jayne is a delicious London based Perfume Shop that offers an exclusive range of luxury perfumes for women and men as well as an array of body lotions, bath oils and scented candles.
Ormonde Jayne’s philosophy is one of quality and true luxury, the pursuit of beauty and elegance. Their perfume library reposes on an exquisitely simple principle – extraordinarily beautiful scents using specialty oils not widely used in the perfume industry today. You are guaranteed to find something completely unique and wonderful.
Perfume fragrances are very personal, so it’s hard to tell someone to buy one, sight unseen… Or in this case, scent un-sniffed! Ormonde Jayne has such a big selection of exquisite scents, you would have a hard time picking one just by the descriptions. And since they are in London, you probably won’t be stopping by for a visit anytime soon… That is why I am so excited about Ormonde Jayne’s perfume samples program.
The Perfume Samples Programme is a complete and comprehensive guide to the Ormonde Jayne fragrance library. It consists of all 11 perfumes decanted into mini sprays at an Eau de Parfum strength. It also comes with a brochure explaining each scent, the Ormonde Jayne philosophy, history and all contact details. Plus, postage is complimentary worldwide. The samples programme costs ยฃ35.00 (approximately $60 USD)
I had the opportunity to try the sample program and it was a heavenly sensory experience. My favorite scents were Ormonde Man and Osmanthus.
Ormonde Man is a sophisticated fragrance, despite its unconventional ingredients. It’s complex and full of character, sultry and mystical, the fragrance exudes soft woody notes, but it is the infusion of Oudh oil, the worldโs most prized essence since time immemorial, that sets it apart, elevating the scent to one of true distinction.
This fragrance didn’t scream “man” to me when I smelled it… I am always drawn towards the more earthy and woodsy smells, so this one was right up my alley. I love it.
– Top: Juniper berry, bergamot, pink pepper, cardamom and coriander seeds
– Heart: Oudh and black hemlock
– Base: Vetivert, cedar, sandalwood and musk
Osmanthus is a fruity floral white flower from Japan and China. Normally I wouldn’t expect to be attracted to this kind of fragrance, but I think the base notes of cedarwood and musk drew me in. I found this to be light, crisp and perfect for daytime wear.
The crisp scent of the Japanese Osmanthus absolute is beautifully highlighted by the water lily and Indian Jasmine. It’s intense, fresh and yet uncomplicated. I can’t imagine anyone not liking this one…
– Top: Pomello, davana (sweet Egyptian herb), pimento
– Heart: Osmanthus absolute, water lily and sambac (Indian Jasmine)
– Base: Cedarwood, labdanum resin, musk and vetiver
