Jill – Before And After
Our Interview with Jill Knapp:
1. How old are you?
I just turned 42 this year.2. How many children do you have?
I have three beautiful children.3. How much weight have you lost to date?
I have lost an amazing 101 pounds!4. What made you finally decide to lose the weight?
Unfortunately finding out I have Type 2 diabetes was a major factor in my mind set and wanting to start living a healthier life. Have a wonderful husband and 3 wonderful children really helped me make my mind up.5. Can you tell us a little bit about Type 2 diabetes?
I was diagnosed with Gestational diabetes with my last child at 37 1/2. At the hospital after I had my son they tested me and all test came back negative. I went to the Dr many months later with 15 extra pounds and was dealing with really bad headaches and my Dr. sent me home with a monitor. I brought it back in the office I found out the diabetes did in deed follow me from the pregnancy.6. What made you decide to enter a Beauty Pageant?
Since I have had success at controlling my diabetes I have been led to a new found dedication and passion in educating others on how to eat right & exercise. It brings me great joy to share my story with others and in doing so inspire them to “get up and get moving!” To be in a pageant you need a platform something you are passionate about. I was already sharing my message of weight loss and living with diabetes so I thought well, If I go for Mrs. Idaho I will be able to expand and have more people to share my message with. I placed in the Top 6 and that is exactly what happen. I have been so blessed to have countless doors open up and ways to share my story with others.7. Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I have a web site that is dedicated to helping others stay motivated. My mother-in law Sharon Knapp who passed away in 2003 always told me to be strong and never give up. She also told me it takes courage to change, She also said it is only through being your true self you will find happiness. I have found that being my true self is helping others in this life and taking my experience and sharing it with others is what I love to do. And if any of you even think that you may have diabetes, please go see your doctor immediately! It’s important to know you have it and start doing something about it right away. And if you are pre-diabetic, you need to lose weight before it develops into type 2 diabetes.

I tried to give this post 5 stars but it must not be working because it said 0 out of 5.
What an incredible journey this lady has been on. Her story is so good. The podcast is a must hear! Loved it and learned so much just by hearing her story.
Loved the podcast. I have listened to it twice now.
I have tried trendy diets and they just don’t work. This lady is much older then I and looks great. I guess the old fashion way eating healthy and exercising really does work for the best.
I loved her podcast. Anyone that needs to drop off some weight should listen to this.
The old fashion way of losing weight is not talked about enough. She looks so good and even though it took her along time she lost 100 pounds. That is almost a whole person. With all the fad diets out their we have a yo yo society. Lose, Gain, I am trying the good old fashion way.
Says a lot when you lose that much weight! loved the podcast at the site she was interviewed on.
I saw this link on diet zoom. loved the podcast the most because you could actually hear her talk about how she lost the weight. I am motivated that’s for sure.
I just spent about 30 min on her web site. Very impressed message that moved me to think about changing the way I think towards food. Being a full time mom has been a big reason why I have gained weight and I need to lose about 50 to be healthy.
Who said you had to starve to lose weight. After listening to her podcast I realize I pay way to much attention to the media and I need to listen to more woman like this who lost the weight in a healthy way
I saw this article on living strong. I loved her web site. great weight loss story.
I can just say wow! I am 43 and boy do I have along way to go. My weight has been up and down with yo yo dieting for years. Seeing this ladys blog was a big eye opener for me. sh has been through so much and still lost the weight.
I have type 2 diabetes and worry all the time I won’t make my son’s 5th birthday. This is a great story and her site really is inspirational. 100 pounds is a ton of weight and it inspired me to get to her blog where I found so many good tips.
I love her story! 100 pounds and looks fantastic.
What a good motivator! loved her site.
What she did was stuck to her goal. Something I have had a real hard time doing. Great post and it just reminds me to be patient and take a look better at what I am eating.
