This is one of my personal recipes. I mistakingly invented it last Friday as a dinner item. I served it with flour tortillas and my husband loved it!
It’s a very hearty dip and I think it would be best served with corn tortilla chips or pita bread. It’s great for parties!! Your guests will love it!
INGREDIENTS:
Sauce:
* 2 cups of whole milk
* 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
* 1/2 cup queso cheese sauce
* 1/2 tsp Garlic salt
* 1/2 tsp Onion powder
* dash of pepper
* 1/2 tsp Franks Hot Sauce
* 4-5 tablespoons of all purpose flour (to thicken sauce)
Meat Mixture:
* 1-2 lbs of ground beef or ground turkey
* 1 small can black olives
* 1/2 cup salsa
* 1 13oz can of spinach (or approx 2 cups fresh/cooked)
* 1/2 tsp Garlic salt
* 1/2 tsp Onion powder
* dash of pepper
* 1/2 tsp Franks Hot Sauce
Other:
* 1-2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
DIRECTIONS:
First, combine all sauce ingredients in sauce pan. Blend together and let sit on medium heat while you prepare the other ingredients.
In a large fry pan, cook the ground turkey with all above spices listed for the meat mixture. When meat is completely cooked, add the olives, salsa, hot sauce, and spinach.
Turn oven on Bake and set to 350°. Meanwhile, keep stirring the sauce until thick. If it’s too thin, add more flour. If it seems to thick, add a little bit of milk. When you are happy with the consistency, turn off the heat and let it set.
When all the ingredients in the meat mixture are hot and all mixed together, pour the sauce into the fry pan with the meat, and stir everything together. Turn off stove.
Finally, pour the entire mixture into a glass or non-stick 13″ X 9″ pan. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on the top and then pop it in the oven. Let bake for approx 10 minutes or until cheese is completely melted. Take it out of the oven and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
