Allright, try not to be too shocked… I’ve never watched even a single episode of The Hills. I know, it’s so popular and everyone is talking about it, but it really just seems to juvenile for me! I’m not really into the whole boyfriend/girlfriend soap opera type drama. I like shows like Desperate Housewives, Brother & Sisters and Lipstick Jungle.
However, I do hear a lot of Lauren Conrad and her hip style and super sexy hairstyles. When it comes to hair, her character has bipolar hair disorder. Every time you see her, her hair is different! She really doesn’t have one “look”, like Jennifer Aniston had in Friends.
Since everyone seems to want the Lauren Conrad hairstyle, from college students to busy moms, we’ve put together a quick and easy how-to quide for Lauren’s most popular hairstyles.
PONYTAIL
1. Shampoo and condition your hair with a straightening shampoo and conditioner like Sunsilk Straight to Perfection Straighten-Up. Let hair dry in a towel for about 10 minutes.
2. Blow-dry your hair straight with a large round brush. Make sure you completely dry the hair around the crown of your head. When you are drying that area, blow from under the roots at an upward angle using the brush. You may want to tip your head upside down to do this.
3. Apply a texturizing mousse like Pantene Pro-V Texturize! Moussing Foam Wax and run it through your hair. Avoid the roots! Push your hair back away from your face and look up as you do this. Then slip hair into a semi-snug ponytail at the nape of your neck, slightly off to one side and then bring some of your tresses over your shoulder.
PONYTAIL WITH BRAID
1. Part hair on one side with a fine tooth comb.
2. French braid from hairline to the end or as far as you can go. Be sure to spritz with a strong hold hair spray as you go along.
3. Pull hair into a loose ponytail and secure with an elastic.
4. Wrap a small amount of hair around the elastic band and secure it with a bobby pin or small clip. Spray with hair spray for extra security.
BRAID WITHOUT PONYTAIL
1. Part hair on one side with a fine tooth comb.
2. French braid from hairline to the end or as far as you can go. Be sure to spritz with a strong hold hair spray as you go along.
3. Secure braid with a small elastic and leave hanging or pull it under the rest of your hair near the nape of your neck and secure with a bobby pin.
4. You may choose to leave your hair straight or curly with this style. It works best with fine to medium hair. Thick hair can get complicated, esp when french braiding.
WAVY HAIR
1. Shampoo and Condition hair with Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner
. Towel dry lightly.
2. Apply a light hair gel like Sexy Hair Concepts Big Sexy Hair Blow Dry Volumizing Gel and gently run through hair away from the head.
3. Blow dry hair with a medium sized round brush, lifting at the roots and pulling outward for extra volume.
4. When hair is mostly dry, wrap small sections around a small-barrel curling iron, spritzing each piece lightly with hair spray. Hold each piece in the curling iron for 10 seconds before letting it go. Don’t be freaked if you look like you had a perm! The curls will soften and give you the volume you’re looking for.
5. To finish the look, brush hair out with a big paddle brush until you achieve maximum volume and wave. Spray with Enjoy Shine Spray for extra glossy tresses.
