Feeding a toddler can be messy, especially when you start teaching them to use a spoon themselves. A bulky, hard to clean high chair can make the entire (necessary) process a complete headache. Thankfully, Joovy knows a thing or two about babies and meal time, so they’ve created the beโall and endโall of high chairs.
Introducing, the Joovy Wood Nook Highchair. If I had to describe this high chair in only a few words, I would say that it is attractive, easy to clean and compact.
First things first, any high chair that will actually contain my extremely squiggly 20 month old, is a good high chair in my book. After having 3 kids, I’ve gone through at least 8 high chairs. Why? Because I am EXTREMELY picky!
Why I Like The Joovy Wood Nook Highchair
My favorite feature about this high chair that makes it a head above the rest is that it is ACTUALLY easy to clean. For real, people. All those high chair companies SAY their high chairs are easy to clean, but I beg to differ. I swear, most of the people who design baby gear have never had children. Such is not the case with Joovy! They clearly have experience with hard to wrangle, messy kids like mine, which is why they were able to design such a streamlined, attractive looking high chair that is actually easy to clean.
Having a high chair that didn’t “sully” the look of my kitchen and dining room was an important factor to me when looking at high chairs. When it comes to the Wooden Nook, I love the simplicity of the design. Instead of detracting from the decor, it adds to it. That is something I can say about any other baby gear we own.
Another selling point to this high chair is that it’s easy for anyone to use. You don’t have to read a manual or fiddle with the thing for 20 minutes before strapping the kid into it. Even your doofus brother in law can get the baby secured into the high chair without a hitch.
The Wooden Nook is incredibly easy to open from it’s compact folded position. When you are done using it, you can then fold it back down which saves space when it’s not in use. It collapses to about half it’s size and still stands up quite sturdy.
Best feature of all? The detachable tray. Thank the Lord for small features like this that just make SO MUCH SENSE. The tray cover easily clicks off so you can take it straight to the sink to scrub it to death rinse it after mealtime. I love that it’s clear so you can still see the wood tray of the high chair when it’s on, once again, not detracting from the stylish look of this high chair.
The only thing that could make this high chair better would be an optional cushion. Of course, that would be one more thing to get dirty and have to clean up afterwards, but I feel like my skinny little man would feel more comfortable in it with a cushion under his bum. Otherwise, this high chair wins on every single point, right down the list.
After 3 kids and about 8 different high chairs, this is the winner! Joovy Wooden Nook is a keeper for sure.
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend!
The JOOVY Wood Nook Highchair comes in 4 colors; black, charcoal, blueberry and purple. Very classy, muted colors that will look great with almost anyone’s decor. Ours is charcoal.
