How to: Get Sexy Summer Lips

Summer is just around the corner, and with the heat comes bare skin and bare makeup.  But nothing will ruin a great look faster than chapped, sunburned lips.  To keep your kisser kissable this summer, start now to make sure that your lips are smooth and polished.  Every morning in the shower buff your lips with a wet, rough face cloth to slough off dead skin, and don’t forget to slather on a good lip balm when you moisturize.

Good ones to try are LypSyl, formulated from all-natural, pure Swedish beeswax with natural ingredients like organic Shea butter, coconut oil, Vitamin E and Vitamin A.  I especially like LypSyl’s Honey Rose formula for a light swish of color.  You can purchase LypSyl  for $2.99 at most major pharmacies, including CVS, Rite-Aid, Duane Reed and Walgreens.

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 is always a good standard to have in your bag, and the 15 SPF will help keep your lips from getting burned.  Kiehl’s Lip BALM #1 comes in several shades (as well as clear) so it can double as a summer gloss while keeping your lips smooth and supple. Get it online for only $9.50 (one tube lasts a long time!).

To get your lips plumped up (without resorting to those nasty fillers) try DuWop Lip Venom.   A secret blend of essential oils helps boost circulation to your lips giving you a bee-stung fullness with a luscious shine.  Available at Sephora.com ($16.00)

After a day in the summer sun – or maybe just your over air-conditioned office –  be sure to pamper your lips with a thick coating of your favorite balm before you call it a day.  The extra attention you pay to keep your lips soft and supple will get you the extra attention you deserve for looking so great!
