6 Tips for Getting a Healthy Glowing Skin

No matter what a person’s age, healthy skin results in enticing glow and vitality. Flawless skin is attractive and to get it, and when it comes to getting flawless skin, every little bit counts: food, exercise, vitamins, and beauty treatments.

Glowing skin is a smooth and comfortable skin that is not ashy, brittle or flaky, Flawless skin is distinguished by tiny pores and clear skin without blemishes. If you are looking for how to make your skin this way, we have put together a few helpful tips for you to achieve your healthy, glowing skin and enjoy a radiant complexion.

1.   Stay Hydrated

For good health you must first stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water improves the overall health of your body and is great for your biggest organ: your skin. Water is perhaps your skin’s most important and glow-inducing ingredient. It will not be healthy if you don’t keep your cells hydrated, causing you to have a really dark and fatigued skin.

Drinking at least 2 liters of water a day will not only help keep your skin moisturized, it will also flush out your system’s toxins so that they don’t build up in your cells. If you don’t like plain drinking water, try an infusion of fruits. You can use various fruits, such as strawberries, lemons, and apples, all adding flavor. Plus, these fruits’ vitamins and antioxidants are perfect for your skin too.

If you spend time outside in the sun, it can really dry out your skin, especially if you go to the beach. Rehydrate thirsty skin with Elina Organics Sahara Souffle. Camel Milk contains a powerful balanced blend of skin-repairing nutrients like natural alpha-hydroxy acids, proteins, and important vitamins. Apply to wet skin and let soak in for 15 minutes before washing off and applying your usual moisturizer. If your skin is very dry you can leave it on overnight and rinse in the morning. Your skin will reveal whether or not you’re hydrated. Find this and other delicious skincare products from Elina Organics on Amazon.

2.   Protect Yourself from the Sun

One of the most effective ways to look after the skin is by shielding it from light. Long periods of exposure to the sun can trigger wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems as well as raise a risk of skin cancer.

For the best protection from the sun, use sunscreen. Using sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15 can offer protection from sun burns. UV rays kill your skin cells, which render the surface of the skin irregular. You should make sunscreen a part of your daily routine in order to maintain healthy, glowing skin. Using CoTZ Face Moisture with 35 SPF will help hydrate and protect your face while leaving it with a youthful glow.

3.   Exfoliate

This is an age-old piece of advice. However, there are plenty of new options to pick from now to support your exfoliation regime no matter your type of skin. Whatever option you pick, be sure to make it an important and daily part of your skin care routine so you can have healthy, glowing skin.

There are two specific types of exfoliant: chemical and physical. Both help in buffering away dead skin cells but they function in two separate ways.

Chemical exfoliants use a mixture of alpha-hydroxy acids to dissolve dirt, oil and impurities while physical exfoliators come with very small particles or large grain-like particles that rub away the dead cells.

If you don’t exfoliate the skin, the dead cells collect on the surface, making it appear dry and patchy. A chemical exfoliator (facial acids) or a physical exfoliator (face scrubs or exfoliating shower gloves)  is effective for this purpose.

When using a liquid exfoliator, ensure it is not too hard on the hands. Look for products that have AHAs and BHAs (alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids). AHA’s do not affect the skin as profoundly and are gentle, making them ideal for beginners. BHAs exfoliate the surface of the skin and disinfect pores.

4.   Eat to Glow

Watching what you eat constitutes a good skin care step. Do you eat a lot of nutrient-rich foods or do you put a lot of junk in your system?

You should be consuming organic, natural foods, with an emphasis on high nutrient-rich, antioxidant-rich foods for healthy skin. Ensure to throw in plenty of items that are perfect for detoxification, as well as foods that feed your gut.

When you have the positive stuff flowing in, then you can talk about eliminating any of the items that could trigger breakouts. Too much sugar can bring stress to your liver and triggers detoxification. When we have a build-up of contaminants, our body’s normal way to seek to drive them out is through our largest organ, our skin. Those contaminants are forced to the surface and breakouts follow.

Too much fructose as well as refined sugars and highly processed/fried foods often impacts the endocrine system and may induce breakouts. You may find breakouts around your jawline or chin when your endocrine system is out of control.

5. Use a Good Moisturizer

Getting a good moisturizer is a good investment for your skin. There are lots of options to choose from, especially if you opt for natural and organic products. You can even visit https://okana.co.nz to see some of the options available to you.

When you invest in the right moisturizer, you will have healthy, glowing skin all year round. It’s really important to find the right moisturizer for your skin type so that you don’t weigh your skin down with too much hydration or dry it out using moisturizers meant for oily skin. Take the time to read about good moisturizers to find the best one for your skin type.

6.   Avoid Smoking

Smoking makes the skin appear aged and brings out wrinkles on the face. In the outermost parts of the skin, smoking narrows the tiny blood vessels, which reduces blood supply and leaves skin paler. This also deprives the skin of oxygen and nutrients which are vital for the protection of the skin.

Smoking also damages the fibres of collagen and elastin which offer strength and elasticity to your skin. Additionally, the repeated facial movements you create while smoking will lead to wrinkles, such as pursing your lips while inhaling and squinting your eyes to shut out smoke.

Smoking increases your risk of skin cancer in your squamous cells. If you smoke, then quitting is the best way to protect your skin. Ask your health care provider for tips or treatments to help you stop smoking.

What Causes Ashy skin?

We lose millions of skin cells a day and if you don’t do enough to consciously eliminate those that don’t fall off naturally, you’ll get a grayish appearance no matter what your skin tone is. The accumulation of dead cells like ashes, forms a dingy layer, which prevents your skin from reflecting light until you wipe it clean.

Polluted air contains a variety of tiny pollutants that produce free radicals on the skin, as well as dirt and sulphur dioxide. Free radicals kill collagen and inhibit the development of pigments over time, so when the colour and feel of the skin become irregular, it reflects outward and appears bland.

Tension or a rough night’s sleep can also affect skin appearance. Depending on what shape the tension takes, the outcome remains the same. Levels of cortisol go up, your fight or flight reflex kicks in and blood flows to your vital organs, not just your face, contributing to skin that looks oily and pale.

Wrapping up

While glowing skin is a major component and sign of healthy skin. Factors such as sleep deprivation, stress and even what you consume may rob the radiance from your complexion.

Amazingly, you can transform your skin from that dull and pale look to luminous and glowing with the skin care tips above and by using skincare product picks from experienced scientists and dermatologists so you can have healthy, glowing skin all the time.

You do not find a happy life. You make it.

That’s the biggest lesson that grief has taught me. If I just wait around to be happy again, I’ll die sad.

You don’t get through grief and come out the other side. That’s not how it works. You learn how to grow around it like a tree grows around a rock that’s in the way. You don’t wait for the rock to move. Cause it’s not gonna.

Choose happy. And then make it happen.

Kids love helping if you just let them!💁🏼‍ Kids love helping if you just let them!💁🏼‍♀️

This little guy always asks to help when he sees me cleaning the house, washing the floors, doing laundry, or emptying the dishwasher. That’s what I love about Montessori parenting - it allows kids to do big jobs and in turn makes them eager to help!

He was over the moon when we gave him the @lovevery floor mop that actually works! He uses it daily now. The mopping pad is machine washable and you can refill the fluid container on it. I usually just do water and a drop of essential oils because he loves it when everything smells clean! 😜

Definitely recommend! If you want to grab this mop for your little helper, it’s in the Storyteller Play Kit from Lovevery for 3 year olds.

Today was my due date for Dylan. Considering he w Today was my due date for Dylan.

Considering he was my 6th child, it's possible he would have been here by now. It’s been extra hard for me this week.

Despite my best efforts to be strong and stay positive, I am completely brokenhearted. I’m just being honest. I could pretend I’m fine, but that doesn't do me or anyone else any good to be dishonest about the pain of miscarriage or the grief that comes with losing a child.

My heart is completely shattered from having an empty womb and an empty nursery. An empty bassinet in the corner and unused tiny newborn outfits, all washed, folded, and ready… for nothing.

It makes me physically sick to my stomach when I think about it all and I can't even fathom how I got here. How did I get here?

This isn't how it's supposed to be! I should be holding a newborn right now! It’s so unfair.

In an instant, my baby was gone and there was nothing I could do to change that.

It doesn't matter how much time passes or what else happens in life, I will always miss him. My heart with always long for my baby.

Those who haven't experienced loss tell you that "Don’t worry! Things will get better, just focus on the positive!" but people who actually know this grief and what it actually feels like to lose a baby, won’t tell you that. They know this hard road. They understand that unfortunately you don't just “get over it.”

The grief doesn't just go away, even if you try to ignore it, it's still there. Like the sun. You don’t have to look at it to know it’s there. You can turn your back on it but it will still warm your skin.

The grief from losing a child is unbearable.
It is unpredictable.
It is unforgiving.
It is relentless.
It is all-consuming.
And it completely shatters you when you don’t expect it.

You don’t get over it. You don’t forget. You simply learn to live with it. And I’m learning to live with it every day.

It’s been 137 days I’ve had to live without my baby.

Lord Jesus, please… hold me extra tight tonight.
