I don’t know about you… but I just love hair products! I love to read the back of the packages and dream about all the promises it makes… increase shine, add body, change your love life, make you richer! See, there I go dreaming, but for me the way my hair looks and feels on any given day can greatly influence how I feel (shallow, yet true) and I’m likely not the only one! Remember the “Bad Hair Day” campaign from the 90’s? We are a hair obsessed culture and I am not excluded.
My hairdresser recently introduced me to two hair products that I absolutely love and when I love something, it is hard for me to not tell everyone about it!
The first is Aveda’s Hair Potion – and while the name obviously does some boasting… I will personally attest that this product lives up to the name. It comes in powder form and you literally shake some into your roots (my stylist also put a tiny bit through all my hair in the perfect way that only a stylist can… so try that at your own risk!) and then run your fingers through it (or shoouusshhh it up) and it absorbs oils in your hair, lifts at the roots, holds firm and you can hardly tell by looking that there is product in your hair! It says it instantly increases volume by 17% – now I am no math whiz – but I think they are right! And moms, listen up… this stuff works WONDERS on second day hair… you all know what I mean!
The next is another great product by Aveda – Air Control Hairspray. I have tested and tested every different kind of hairspray out there. And this one is head and shoulders above the rest (pun intended!). I love this hair spray because it has GREAT hold and because while I love using products on my hair I am no pro. Even I have fallen prey to the hairspray “crunchies”! This hairspray gives you a lot of control with an even and thin spray to avoid over applying. One way I love to use this spray is when I want volume, but want to pull my hair back. I spray all of the roots on the top and the crown of my head… making it almost teased and then gently run my fingers through the tousling to make it look smooth but still voluptuous!
What are your “go-to” hair products? Do you have difficulty finding stuff that REALLY works?
