If you’re a busy mom who is devoted to looking after your children and keeping your home nice, you might think that you will need to put your career on hold for a whole, and that is just fine because raising a healthy, happy family is probably the best thing you can do.
However, if you would like to work and build up a career that will enable you to earn some extra money for the family and bring even more fulfillment to your life, there is nothing wrong with doing so. The only sticking point can be finding a career that will work with all of your other commitments from homeschooling to homesteading, which is why I’ve put together a few ideas of careers that I think could easily be worked around your mom life…
If you’re passionate about a sport, whether it be karate, football, or yoga, you could make a living training other people in it too. You’ll need to get a self defense instructor certification or a certification for whatever sport it is you’re interested in, but once you have that you can advertise your services and hold classes or take ion private clients at a time and place that fits in with your existing schedule. Jobs don’t get more flexible.
As a mom, you are undoubtedly good with kids, and you probably have a decent grasp of basic English, Math, and Science if you are homeschooling or have been through college yourself. So why not offer yourself up as a tutor? You can tutor kids online or in your own home if you prefer, You will probably need relevant qualifications, certifications, and insurance, but other than that, it’s just a matter of advertising your services and working out the best time to fit clients in.
You might think that this would be impossible to fit around taking care of your kids but with so many online stores and so many people buying most of their wardrobe online, there is room in the market for online personal shoppers who have an eye for fashion. All you need to do is take the vital statistics of the customer, along with their eye color, hair color, and complexion (getting them to send you a photo would work well), and a budget. You can then pick out various outfits for their consideration and charge a fee for doing so. If fashion is your thing, it will be like a dream come true.
If you’re already looking after your own kids, why not take in a few more children too? You can do all the things with them that you do with your own kids, baking karts and crafts, reading, etc., and get paid for it. Every state has different requirements for individuals looking to care for children in their own homes, but it shouldn’t be too hard to meet these and start your own fruitful business.
Working when you’re a mom can be tricky, but these career choices will provide you with fast more flexibility so you can make it work!
