The newest vacuum from Electrolux is one flexible little household appliance and is appropriately named “Nimble”. And nimble it is! This thing has an amazing, dirt-fighting swivel action steering system and powerful cyclonic technology that never loses suction*.

I got the platinum version (pictured) to review** but it’s also available in a bright green, exclusively at Lowes.

Nimble’s innovative design puts superior cleaning on the fast track, even in a home full of obstacles. It easily swivels around furniture, stray toys, dogs, or whatever else is in your way! The vacuum’s amazing swivel action guidance system goes right around corners smoothly to clean tight spaces like hallways and even small apartments.

It weighs around 18 pounds, which is relatively light for a vacuum of this caliber. I’ve used other upright vacuums that weigh about the same or more, that weren’t nearly as amazing as this machine. It maneuvers around furniture with ease!

3-in-1 Versatool

An innovative 3-in-1 Versatool™ tightens to reach into crevices, expands to fit stair steps and opens flat for upholstery. It works great! I had a little trouble with it falling off the vacuum while i was running around, but I’m a pretty intense person when I vacuum. I like to get in and get right down to business as fast as I can. So yeah, the attachments went flying off while I was going through the house 150mph… I don’t think it’s the vacuum’s fault though!

The Quick-Release Telescopic Wand and hose combination extends cleaning to 14 feet of reach! It’s extraordinary! I can actually reach up to the top of my stairs with this vacuum! My other upright vacuum (I won’t mention the brand name here) only reaches half way up my staircase. Then I have to lug the darn thing all the way upstairs, extend the hose and attempt to vacuum the other half of my stair case. What a pain! This vacuum made cleaning my stairs SOOO much easier!

 

So to sum it up for ya, there are 3 key design features that position Nimble as the ultimate cleaning machine.

I also really liked the lights in the front of the vacuum so you can actually SEE what you’re sucking up under the couch and under the kitchen chairs. In addition to all those other amazing features, it has a HEPA filter!

My favorite part about this vacuum is that it’s SUPER USER FRIENDLY. My vacuum that my husband bought for me practically needs a user manual just to find the on/off button. The Nimble has an easy to locate power button, easy to find carpet/bare floor buttons and the handle release pedal is also easy to find and access. I find that to be a huge plus since those are big cons with my old vacuum.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this vacuum to anyone who is looking for a vacuum that is easy to use and is maneuverable and versatile. It has amazing suction power and it cleaned the carpet GREAT!

  14. I really really need to win this one! My current vacuum is a filter queen, if you don’t know what that is that’s because they were made in like 1940 lol my dad got it for me from a pawn shop. It’s big, doesn’t move around easily and barely sucks up anything so I rarely use it. I have a pet Pomeranian who sheds and I have to pick up the fur by HAND :( I really hope I win this! I can’t afford a new one and I know if I don’t win this I will be stuck picking up everything by hand for the rest of my life lol :/

  32. With 18month twin girls keeping a clean house is hard. This vacuumed looks like it works real well and would do a great job so I would have more free time with my girls. The vacum I have now does not suck up the dirt very well so it takes forever. I would love to win this vacume.

  68. My current Vacuum is the Bissell pet control vac. I don’t have a Pet but I do hair from a private section of my home. I got this vacuum because I thought it would be great at getting up all the hair left behind since I have slight OCD when it comes to cleaning but more importantly hair that is left behind. I catch myself routinely vacuuming my whole entire home over and over again due to the hair traveling from that section of my home finding its way around to the rest of my space. Even after cleaning the area the hair somehow stays around until someone walks in or out then it will follow him or her to another section of the home. I bought this particular vacuum about 4 months ago but I am ready to be freed from being a slave to cleaning hair day in and out. Please HELP ME!!!! Thank you,

  69. I HATE that my vacuum won’t even pick up the big stuff!! I have to roll over it like 3 or 4 times sometimes to have it pick something up…at that point I feel like I should just bend over and do it myself! We have electrical tape on the cord and are missing a lot of the accessories. It was a hand-me-down and you can tell but since it still turns on we have more pressing things to spend money on. I WOULD LOVE TO WIN THIS VACUUM!!! It sounds amazing! : )

  70. With my current vacuum I hate the dust scraper broke off the bottom and the crevice tools don’t reach as far! I definitely need this vacuum since it has a HEPA filter and has better higher reaching crevice tools!

My current vacuum is more of a “sweeper” style than an actual vacuum – I have to dump the little dust cup every few minutes (even if the carpet isn’t dirty- I have a dog) and it clogs frequently. So before I finish the living room, I have dumped the cup 2-3 times and unclogged the hose at least once. I hate it.

    I dislike my current vacuum because is died about 2 months ago. Both of us are on a fixed income due to the fact we both are disable due to injuries and illnesses there for a new vacuum is not in the budget. I have been using a broom on the carpet. I could really really use this vacuum

  91. I hate my vacuum cleaner so much b/c it’s heavy to lug around and never seemed to get all the corners and hard-to-reach angles around our sprawling house built back in the 1970s. Even a Dustbuster didn’t help much in way of controlling all the little food bits, cat furballs, and my long, black hair…a long-known killer of vacuum cleaners. Digging out hair knots and dust from within the vacuum is not my idea of a fun time!

    This vacuum seems like it just might make cleaning fun…and not give you huge arms or a broken leg from trying to reach way up high. ;) Now I’ve vacuum-less, as I threw out my old one onto the lawn for the city’s bulk collection.

  158. So I currently have a bissell and I hate that is has so many filters that need to be replaced on a regular basis. The hepa filter on the side is replaced very often and I find that it is often hard to find the hepa filter for the particular model. I also hate that it is not very maneuverable and the hose it super short for high to reach areas. I would love to have a new vaccuum because I have children and pets and I hate seeing pet hair so I am always vaccuuming. This vaccuum looks so versatile and I love that it has a very long hose!

What a sad sight…the wand is two colors, the connections inside are broken and barely holding together, the vacuum head is taped to the end of the wand, the cord winder is broken off, the piece to hold the hose intake is broken off the body and held on by tape, the lower intake keeps popping out and spews dust all over the place when it pops…(and that list is off the top of my head, I’m sure there is more!)

I cannot count the number of times that I have been cleaning, only to look down and realize the attachment tube has come apart and is spraying the dust and dog hair all over the floor again!   236. I despise my current vacuum because it DOES NOT WORK! I will purposely put down a hunk of fuzz to test the vacuum and after a hundred time run-over, the hunk of fuzz still lies happily on the carpet.

    I really want this new vacuum because my 5 year old son has extreme allergies and we really need a strong powerful vacuum to eliminate as much of the dust and household allergens as possible so he can breathe freely and play happily.

    1. My husband picked it out and he is definately NOT the one using it
    2. It is cheap – looks cheap,feels cheap and works cheap
    3. It’s heavy and bulky
    4. We have 3 big dogs that are in and out of the doggie door all of the time, bringing in dust dirt and grass
    5. It is hard to change the setting from carpet to bare floor (almost break a
    finger each time I try to slide that sucker)

  268. One thing that really bugs me about my vacuum is the hose length. It stretches probably 10 feet, but as soon as you suck anything, the hose sucks back up and tips the vacuum over. It is SOOO annoying! The hose might as well be 5 feet long because that’s about as far as it works. I love that this one has a 14 foot reach!

  289. I am tired of vacuums that are bulky, heavy, noisy and/or lose suction! I have a light-weight vacuum for downstairs, and the carpeted staircase and a clunky, heavy one for the main floor of my house. They both lose suction when half-full. The larger one is SO noisy! I need a high-power, easy to maneauver vacuum!

  290. The vacuum that we have now is a bissell and we’ve owned it for six years. It is exceptionally noisy so I can’t vacuum when my kids are napping or if my husband is working nightshift. Usually after vacuuming, I will steam clean and man there is a ton of dirt left over from our vacuum! It’s bulky, heavy, loud, and doesn’t do such a great job. Also, since my husband and both of my kids have allergies, I usually have to change out the filter and bag more than most. Also, it seems to get dust all over the outside of it and so that needs to be cleaned often as well!

  296. My vacuum’s hose is so short that it is useless. The vacuum doesn’t suck..well it does but in the wrong way..up enough, so I end up going over the same area more then once. I can’t get around into spots I need to vacuum with either the upright or it’s attached hose. I have a joke of a filter on my vacuum that doesn’t help at all.
    The Electrolux Nimble looks like it resolves all my complaints and more that
    I have with my current vacuum.

  397. I also have a premium cyclonic vacuum cleaner but it is SO heavy (26 lbs, without dirt, LOL!),I actually bought a “downstairs vacuum” because I cannot lug the cyclonic up and down the stairs. It would be so great to have all that power in the lighter weight Nimble as well as to have access to Nimble’s telescopic feature. Thanks for this great offer!

  465. Thank you for the review of the Nimble vacuum by Electrolux. My mom owned a vacuum from this company for many years and was heartbroken when it finally died because she loved it so much. I like all of the great features on the Nimble, but I’m also impressed by how sleek and modern looking it is. I could definitely enjoy owning one of these vacuums and would love to win one! My current vacuum is sooooo NOISY. Also, it’s a bagless vacuum cleaner, but I always have to take it apart and sipe it down with a damp paper towel to rid of all the dust it accumulates on the inner assembly. The thing I hate the most about my vacuum cleaner is that it’s like driving a tractor-trailer when I use it. It is so difficult to manuever. And, let’s not forget one teensy tiny irritating thing – it doesn’t have a headlight! Aaarrgh!

  632. I would LOVE this dazzling vacuum. The swivel feature is key and I love the fact that it’s relatively lightweight. Love love! My current vaccum has got to be at least 15 years old (hand me down), weighs about 25 lbs, and I honestly don’t think it even picks up dirt. I think it magically creates more dirt. Is that even possible?

  715. Are you kidding? Tell you what I HATE about my current vacuum? How much bandwidth does your blog have? Let’s see…cumbersome…doesn’t swivel or turn around corners…not powerful enough to suck up the crud in the corners…I always have to get that with a broom or mop…I have arthritis and I can barely get it up and down stairs (it takes one determined pre-teen grandson to do this for me…and only when he happens to be at my house)…bags are a hassle – when I can find them at the store, that is….they don’t fit exactly right and are difficult to remove when full…I keep losing the attachments…loss of suction power…H-E-A-V-Y…I even hate the color – dark dull red…Red as in my face when I try lug the stupid thing from room to room and floor to floor. I promise to give the Electrolux Nimble a loving, appreciative home…I’ll even give it it’s own closet to live in. How about it?

  869. The vacum I have is ancient. It doesn’t have attachments and I have no idea where to get the replacement bags. It is very heavy. I can see why women in the 50s got so tired cleaning.

  895. I have a Hoover Windtunnel Savvy & I hate it because it’s so hard to maneuver around the house and it has 3 HEPA filters that have to be replaced often,(they can’t be washed out) that are quite expensive, & lastly the belt breaks on it all the time!

  904. We live in a two story home. We have one vac for upstairs and another for downstairs. The one for upstairs has such a short cord and is so unwieldy that we have difficulty reaching the stair landing halfway up. The same goes for the one on the lower floor. It is filled with water and much too heavy to lift up to the landing. Oh for one that would do both floors.

  907. my vacuum is not very efficient on stairs – we live in a three-story! It is heavy to lug up and down, also. Suction is important, too – we have an 80 pound chocolate lab named Latte that leaves plenty of hair around the house.

  911. I have a bi-level home and having suffered with asthma for years, vacuuming has become a chore with my old bulky vacuum. It is heavy and not very easy to maneuverer. It is a 15 year old Hoover windtunnel. It is so old that it doesn’t have any Hepa filers or anything like that.

  932. I currently have a town home with two sets of stairs (14 steps each) and high ceilings. The worst thing about my current vaccum is having to take out the extention pole from the hose to vaccum the stairs. I use the hose to get a good deep clean in and on the stairs. The crevice tool is housed in the pole which I end up having to go where I left the pole to get the tool. The vaccum is heavy and the hose is short so I have to squat to hold the vaccum on the stairs to get the job done. To get the flat areas done in our home the pole has to then go back into the hose which doesn’t slide easily and has to fit properly in order to use the handle to move the machine. I often find myself with an achy back and a stiff hand after use. I also don’t like that I have to manually role up the extra long cord when finished.
    The Nimble looks amazingly easy to use and could save my back and stiff hands.

  943. I would LOVE, LOVE to win the Electolux Nimble vacuum becaaaauuse….when I left my ex husband, he made me leave behind the good vacuum. I am stuck with the $5 thrift store vacuum he bought to vacuum our garage. It is the saddest, most pathetic old thing you have ever seen. It’s almost obsolete. Help…I need a new vacuum!

  1061. I have a vacuum by Kirby that requires a PhD in Housekeeping to operate. It is very heavy and it takes an extra 10 to 15 minutes just to change the attachments when I’m cleaning so now I don’t use the attachments at all. I use to enjoy vacuuming when I was growing up (my mom had an electrolux) but now I hate vacuuming with such a passion because my current vacuum requires too much extra time just to get it to operate. The last time my carpet was vacuumed was April 8th! Sad I know! I feel so guilty as a mom because my three year old and my one year old have no clue how dirty the carpet is that they play on! I’m a working mom and I need something that can clean my bare floor and my carpets with ease… I need a vacuum makeover desperately! I would be so gratetful to win this vacuum and my floors would be grateful too not to mention my children and husband as well

  1436. First entry: Our vacuum cleaner is at least six years old. I think we got it when we moved to this house. It’s bulky, the extendable tube no longer works (we lost the part that attached it to the vacuum), and sometimes I’m not even sure it’s getting all the stuff off our carpet. We have a medium-haired cat (can’t imagine what it’d be like having more) and she sheds all the time it seems. We definitely need a new vacuum cleaner soon. I’m sure this one would do the job!
