The 3-Step Program
-
Step 1: Polish / Exfoliate
Step 2: Cleanse
Step 3: Repair
Reps for Dr. Lancer asked me to review his new 3 step program and share with you what I thought. I started using the products in early March and used them consistently for the last 6 weeks. I usually like to try new products for 6-8 weeks to make sure I am getting an accurate look at how my skin and hormones will react to the new products since we all know our skin can get finicky around ‘that time of the month’. Also, different makeups and primers can have a huge effect on how your skin looks too.
Using the 3 step program I noticed improvements in my skin in just a few days. The skin was softer and brighter. I also noticed after about a week of continued use that my pores were smaller.
I thought I had a favorite, but actually I like all three products a lot. If I had to pick a favorite though, it would be the Polish. The Blemish Control Polish ($50) is a gentle resurfacing polish containing natural exfoliating minerals from the Dead Sea and antibacterial tea tree oil. It’s a very thick scrub and it’s difficult to get a sizable amount out of the squeeze tube. A simple container redesign would solve this problem, so hopefully they will consider. It’s the only complaint I have about the product, besides the price. My skin always feels immediately smoother and refreshed after using it.
At first, I thought the cleanser was pretty standard, but after using it for about a week, I noticed that it’s not your everyday cleanser. The Extremely Pure Cleanser ($50) is a gentle, light-foaming cleaner enriched with natural exfoliating enzymes, moisture-rich hydrators and skin soothing agents. The beads are super gentle and yet provide a good, fresh ‘clean’ that will get off your makeup and foundations easily.
The first time I used the Repair Lotion ($100), I was afraid it would make me breakout because it felt like it would be heavy and clog my pores. For some reason though, it didn’t. It actually helped clean some of my acne and left my skin moisturized without being greasy. It worked great under Urban Decay โPore Perfectingโ Complexion Primer Potion and MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Microperfecting Primer.
VERDICT: I liked all three products and was impressed how well they worked together. Would I personally pay $200 to purchase all three products? Probably not. While they worked great and I would recommend them based on their performance, I didn’t seem dramatic enough results to justify the high cost – for myself. If you normally spend around $100 a month on skin care products, then I would definitely recommend giving these a try. However, if you have to skip paying your electric bill to buy these, don’t bother.
