1. I tried to order the Steve Madden ones but they won’t ship until end of August…

3. After seeing the movie Friday I could not stop thinking about these sandals. I knew gladiators were in this summer, nine west is all over that as well. But I had to have these, after numerous google searches to find Carries shoes, I finally found the Dior beauties at a drastic price. Atleast for my budget they are.

   Bakers.com was a suggested option for a knockoff pair, but my size had been sold out. I have since pre order the steven madden pair. Sure I have to wait a few months, but I think it will be well worth the wait. LOVE THEM!

4. I JUST ordered the Bakers version. After reading what you said about being sold out in 7 and 7.5 I freaked! I hope I ended up ordering the right thing, my order history won’t tell me the size or color I ordered so my fingers are super crossed. But I’m the same way, after seeing her sport them in the movie I had to have something similar. I’m okay with buying the knock off over the dior because they’re such a novelty, paying 700 dollars for a pair of shoes you’ll probably only wear this season is ridiculous for a normal person like me. Who has never bought a 700 dollar pair of shoes.

7. Hi there! Thank you for this post. I hope you won’t get tired of updating this topic. The first time I search I found the Luichiny ones, and almost got them in gold. I got the ones from bakers. But I am definitely getting another from Steve Madden! Do let us know when another shoe brand copies it. I know, I am a shoe addict!

15. The Dior ones are awesome, no doubt about that. And if you’re lucky to find them and afford them, GET THEM. The Madden ones are a great knock-off and the price is too good to pass up, too. But for those who still cannot afford those, I thought I would share this link. It’s not as good as the Madden ones, but I thought you could get the same idea……

    The seller also has them in Tan, Camel, and White (which are ok looking)….wish they had them in brown, though.

    I’m from germany and after watching the movie (I immediately fell in love with those sandals!!) i searched for them in the internet. and then, wow, i found your site and i love it! why isn’t there something like that in germany? and i have to say: yes, i ordered those amazing steve madden shoes for 30$ shipping cost (which isn’t quite a lot in euro by now) and i expect them at the end of the year.. but for those i can wait that long!

18. Oh, the Steve Madden ones look great! (!!!) I used to go to Bakers all the time as a teenager, but some of their stuff is very hit-or-miss.

    I completly love these shoes. I’m going through a ‘I love brown’ phase. I just got a very cute yellow blouse, and yellow + brown = preeeetty. I think you will love this pair of shoes so much, so the extra cost will, in the long run, seem not so bad. Great choice :)

26. Regarding the Bakers Candice sandal, I have those as well but they are not the most well-made or comfortable shoes. Until the new Steve Madden Maddiee style, I thought these were the best looking shoe. I didn’t care for the cutouts on the Madden Madalynn (it looked a little too cowgirl for my taste and I didn’t like the bronze hardware). Plus the new Maddiee are available one month sooner! Happy shopping!

27. These are the kinds of things that people will look back at and shudder (kind of like the neon colors and big shoulder pads of the eighties). They are nothing but UGLY and TRENDY. There is nothing classic or pretty about them. Go ahead and spend big bucks on some henious looking shoes that will be obsolete in a couple months.

28. I purchased the Baker’s version and they are actually really comfortable. I do live in heels, so discomfort is something I may have gotten used to haha. But I get a ton of compliments on them whenever I wear them, and they really rock an outfit! the newer Maddens are a lot better than their first version, the Madalynn– it looks similar to Baker’s too. I love them, and whoever gets them will love theirs too!

34. I’ll have to have someone take a picture for you. How do I post it here? I have the Madden’s in Brown and the Baker’s in black. I think I made the right choice on the brown because to be honest you can wear brown with everything. I’m not sorry that I didn’t get the black in the Madden’s and I don’t feel like I need them. Trust me you will LOVE them.

35. I’m not sure how you post a photo here – maybe Fashionable Housewife can advise? Are they the dark chocolate brown as shown on the SM website? I think the photo on this page has worried me because it’s a bit lighter, and I much prefer the chocolate colour. Photos can be misleading I guess!!

41. hey ladies..i went to my local bakers today and tried to try them on…how do they fit. i wear a 8..but they had a 7.5 and a 10 only in tan, i couldnt even get my foot in the 7.5, and strangly the size 10 was almost a perfect fit, the sales person told me to order a 9 online, but im nervous that wont fit..any suggestions? are you finding they are true to size? of the sm…which are you ladies feelin more the maddie or the madalynn

42. Drea – I called the local Baker’s store (the nearest one is an hour drive) and the sales manager told me to order a 1/2 size bigger. She said they run small and she wears a 9 (same size as me) and she had to buy a 9 1/2. I hope that helps but with out having tried them on I’m not an expert. I’m waiting on the Madalynn to come now and the district manager for the FL region has assured me he’ll call me when he has the Maddiee in stock. I’m not sure if I’m going to like the “all patent leather” but we’ll see.

45. Drea – DHL has my Madalynn’s (in black & brown) all over creation but they should be here tomorrow by 12p. I got the DC manager to send me the Maddie’s in black patent (still kind of leary about that) and the natural snake. He thought the green and purple were a little too “street walker” but did say the green ones with jeans were hot. HA! I didn’t get a DHL tracking number for those but am thinking Tuesday maybe Wednesday on delivery? AND I asked if they had them in leather and he said no so I too will be ticked if I get the patent leather and then they have leather. HA!

    Drea I don’t know why you took your Madalynn’s back!!! You can find the Bakers ones in stores, but I don’t think they are nearly as nice. I saw them in the store and they look cheap in my opinion.

I should be getting my Steve Madden Madiee’s by Monday, but loved the way the Madalynn’s looked on the foot in the picture above so I checked Zappos and they have the Madalynn in both black and brown. As most of you probably know, Zappos delivery time is very quick and they often upgrade standard shipping to overnight shipping so I’m hoping to see these on my feet tomorrow. Oh, I do have the Bakers Candice sandal and I do think they look cheap. Plus my little pinky toe falls off the edge, between the second smaller strap in the front and the platform (I’m hoping this doesn’t happen with the Madiees – has anyone else had this problem??). I know that the quality of Steve Madden shoes is very good so I’m looking forward to trying both their styles out.

    Yesterday, I chose to purchase the Steve Madden Maddiee in both the Black Patent and Natural Snake. I wore the Black Patent for the 1st time today and received 4 compliments on them! They’re HOT! Plus, I have wide feet and they make my feet look slim!

    I tried on the Bakers shoes in black and the leather does not appear very high quality and they make my feet look wide.

    I opted for the Maddiee vs. the Madalynn because of the slimmer heel, and its closer similarity to the original shoe. I wasn’t feelin’ the patchwork leather or the brass detail with the black on the Madalynn (this is a matter of preference for each person though!). The Maddiee is also a shoe I would normally wear even if it bore no similarity to a high end shoe.

    Enjoy your hot heels, whichever ones you decide to rock!

57. Hello everyone! I received the “Maddiee” yesterday and i have to say they are fabulous!! I also agree that the Bakers shoes looks a bit generic in contrast to the Steve Madden style. I ordered the Maddiee last week and it arrived quick!! Just in time for the rest of the summer. The bakers shoes have been sold out in most stores here in california. I heard some of the stores just got them in, so i will check them out to get a close up view of them. I have a feeling i will still probably prefer my Steve Madden “Maddiee” shoes!! For those of you who loved the vintage style clothing from the movie, you might want to check out Ebay! I have found many cute 50’s and 60’s style summer dresses, just like the green floral dress Carrie Bradshaw wears with her gladiator platform shoes. Good luck shopping!

    I have wide feet (duck feet I call them) and my pinkie toes always fall off the edge of shoes, but that didn’t happen with the Maddalyn’s!!! They are designed perfectly.

    Plus, they make my feet AND ankles look skinny. They must be sent from shoe heaven!

    “Housewife” — I sometimes have pinky toe problems with strappy platforms and it is definitely a problem with the Bakers. I’m really hoping that is not the case with the Maddiees because I do prefer the look and hardware of that syle to the Madalynns. Maybe I’ll keep both — it’s still a lot less than $800.

    “To the nines” — Did you notice a fit difference between the Candice and Maddiee styles? Any problems with your pinky toe?

    “Drea” — Would you believe that the only camera I own is in my cellphone? I’ll do my best to get a photo of the Maddiees once I get them, but hopefully a more camera-savvy gal will provide one for us all.

62. Okay, I have all (FOUR pairs) of shoes in and I’m not a HUGE fan of the Maddie’s in the patent leather black. I do like them in the natural. I prefer the Madalynn’s in black and brown. 63. Ah, I forgot to mention that as far as comfort goes, the Madalynn’s were MUCH more comfortable. Even though I prefer the heel on the Maddie’s they pushed my foot forward but that could be because they are slick and not leather? Overall the Madalynn’s are my (my husband, MIL, and neighbor’s) pick. I will keep the natural in the Maddie and probably both pairs of the Madalynn’s. If someone can tell me how to post pictures I’ll be happy to share.

    drea: As far as how I feel about the Black Patent, you’re asking a girl that has some 20 pairs of shoes in patent leather! I love patent shoes, but I also like attention! It takes some confidence to wear these shoes! :) (more compliments when I wore them today!)

    Cassidy: I didn’t have any pinky toe issues with the Bakers shoes or the Maddiees, but I didn’t try on my size at the Bakers store because they didn’t have it (I wear a 9 and they only had a 7 1/2).

68. I sent my pictures to the Fashionable Housewife (as instructed to do so by her) and she’ll post them. I like patent leather too, but in my opinion, I prefer the Madalynns to the Maddies. Not just in looks but comfort, just my opinion though.

69. Drea – Got my Maddiees today and thought that, even though I don’t have a photo for you, I’d let you know that the black patent is very pretty. It’s almost a soft cracked patent leather (by the way, the shoe uppers are not made of leather, but manmade materials). Shiny, but not too shiny and not cheap looking at all.

    The style and fit are pretty much exactly like the Bakers Candice, but the quality is better. However, I think that the Madalynns are made even better than the Maddiees, with a sturdier heel and buckle. And the cutouts are not too flashy (I didn’t like them at first, either, but after trying all the styles, they are now my favorite). Plus, I think the Madalynns are actually more slimming due to the longer cut of the middle section over the top of the foot.

    Anyway, unfortunately for me, my pinky toes get caught between the strap and platform of the Maddiees (just like they do in the Bakers Candice) so sadly, even though I really love the black patent, I’m going to have to return these.

    So, Drea, I would definitely recommend the black patent. You shouldn’t be worried at all about the look. Let us all know what you decide and how your style of choice works for you!

70. I’m so glad I found this site! I have been deciding on whether or not to order the Madalynns, I just love them. My biggest concern is if I can walk in them or not. Are they really comfortable and fairly easy to walk in? I already have about ten pairs of shoes in my closet that I thought I would wear but do not because they are too high and uncomfortable. 72. Jem — Order them from Zappos and you’ll get them the next day! You’ll have to pay a little more, but you won’t have to wait. And if they don’t fit, you can return them for free (no restocking fee!). Just be sure to cancel your order with Steve Madden for a full refund.

    Rapture — I haven’t worn the Madalynns for more than four hours yet, but in that time, they didn’t rub anywhere and were not too tight — in fact, they’ve already stretched a little bit to fit my foot. What makes your other heels uncomfortable? Heel height? Straps rubbing? Too tight? If it is heel height, these may be uncomfortable for you to wear for long periods of time, but I’d still recommend them because they really are quite stunning. You may want to try your new Madalynns around your home or office first to see how you do before wearing them out. Good luck. I hope that they work for you.

74. Rapture: You ladies are going to think I have a real shoe “problem”, but I own Basha too. They seem comfortable at first, but I wore them to work and needed to change them by lunchtime because you have no cushion under your toes. That part of the shoe is very flat and with the pitch – the bottom of your toes start to ache. They are great for just going out, but I don’t recommend them for work. However, they are ADORABLE on.

80. tothenines – I wore the natural snake on Friday night with light wash skinny Seven jeans and a ruffled chiffon gun metal silver top. I was on my feet for about 3 hours and wore them for 5 and they were super comfortable. I got TONS of compliments on the shoes (even in the darkness of the bar). I love the shoes (oh, and thanks for thinking I did a decent job on modeling the shoes, I was beginning to feel a little attacked and wondered if the shoes were going to look bad on my feet.)

    Also, i was going to get the ones from asos that are similar until i saw the ones at steve maden. Which are the best? And is it worth it to order them from Greece? Can you suggest anything else. I must have the shoes!!! :)

    The shoes are to die for… SJP actually wears both brown ones and black ones in the movie. I think she also might wear a gold pair with the wedding dress…

    She mostly wears the brown ones in the movie, so I bought the brown ones. I’ve heard reports that the ones from Steve Madden are better than the ones from ASOS.

    To be honest with you, the shoes are gorgeous. If you are used to walking in heels, you’ll love these shoes. They are so sexy on too. I have a hard time walking in them because they are 4 inch heels and I usually wear flats, but that would be my only complaint.

    I don’t know how much the shipping will be to Greece, but I would think it would be worth it. If you have trouble ordering them from Steve Madden, let me know and I’ll see if I can hook you up with a pair somehow.

85. I waited it out and got mine for $32 dollars on Amazon.com. I ordered the Steve Madden’s in brown. Wasn’t sure I wanted them when I first saw the movie, but since the price went down I decided to give them a try. I sure wish they could do a replica on the Eiffel Tower Bag.
