I recently tried the Grains & More Double Fiber and the even yummier Grains & More Double Protein.
Out of the two I tried, I liked the Double Protein the best, and so did my daughter and husband. It was great as sandwiches as well as the main ingredient in my strawberry stuffed French Toast.
I feel good knowing my family is eating bread that’s good for them. The Double Protein bread is great because each slice is packed with 7 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber. Protein is used to build, maintain and repair body tissue, and provides a source of energy and controls many of the important processes in the body related to the metabolism. Numerous studies show that people feel more satisfied and eat fewer calories after having meals rich in protein.
And it’s true because normally my husband eats between 6 and 8 pieces of french toast, but when I made it with this bread, he was full and satisfied after 4 pieces! It’s very filling bread, but it doesn’t feel heavy in your stomach. You just feel satisfied.
I didn’t like the flavor of the Double Fiber bread quite as much as the Double Protein, but it was still very good. I used this loaf for toast with butter, turkey sandwiches, and tuna melts and all three were yummy!
Fiber is essential in maintaining a healthy digestive system. It can assist in weight management by helping you stay satiated longer. A high-fiber diet can lower the risk of developing certain conditions such as heart disease, high cholesterol, cancer, diabetes and diverticular disease.
Everyone needs more fiber in their diet so this is a great way to add it in without having to choke down bran flakes!
