Last month I received a box in the mail from Calidora Skin Clinic filled with some products to test and review for them! What fun! Over the past couple of weeks I have been getting to know these products; here’s my thoughts on them.
Also, stay tuned for a give-away that we will be conducting so that you can win one of these great products for yourself!
First up was the Calidora Foaming Cleanser. This cleanser has a very soft and subtle scent, which I really liked. First thing in the morning when I am washing my face the last thing I want is some crazy scent in my nose. The gel easily got a soft foam while I massaged it into my skin and rinsed off quickly. After drying my face off my skin didn’t feel tight or dry, as can easily happen with many cleansers. It also has a bit of salicylic acid in it (however it did not indicate what percentage) which I like because it can keep break-outs at bay, especially during hormonal times of the month. At least for me. Overall I would say that this product is a great value. Even at $27, you get 8.45 ounces. The product I currently use has about the same price point for half the volume.
Next up was the Ultra Rich Moisturizer. I put this on after washing my face as I usually would have and then applied my make up after that. Of all the products I had to test, this was my least favorite. The scent of this moisturizer wasn’t as subtle as the wash and was less desirable overall. The texture of the product seemed lumpy, but I gave it a try. It felt great on my skin, but a little heavy for me, especially with make-up over top. My skin type would likely work better with the Ultra Light Moisturizer. At $35 for 1.69 ounces I would place this in the pricey category. Another minus for the Ultra Rich Moisturizer was that there is no SPF in it. I prefer a one-stop-shop with moisturizer and SPF. That could be a personal preference though!
The Revitalizing Vitamin B Serum was a unique product that definitely got some attention from me! This product took some experimenting with first though. It too contains a bit of Salicylic Acid (to quell break-outs) and also Hyaluronic Acid (for anti-aging) so it offers a lot in one application. Personally I preferred to use this before bed. It is very rich and leaves the skin feeling youthful and dewey. For me though, it would not be good to put make-up over this. The scent is unique as well, almost like a musky honey. At $68 for 1 ounce this product too is a bit pricey, but I think offers a lot of benefits in return. And you only need to smallest little bit to see and feel a difference on your skin. This was one of my favorites!
Lastly is the Moisturizing Masque. I will tell you first thing that I am a face masque junkie. I own all sorts and LOVE to use them. This masque has a soft subtle scent as well and I especially liked the scent. The masque applied easily to the skin and then after about 15 minutes became tight (which I for some reason love the feeling of) and then easily rinsed off. After rinsing it, my skin felt great – paired with the Serum from above it was magnificent! I love this product for winter as it really does moisturize and calm the skin. At $35 for 1.69 ounces, again it is pretty pricey but I would shell it out in a minute.
