BumpIts: Fabulous Find or Fashion Nightmare?
Seriously, the first time I saw a BumpIts commercial, I laughed. From flat to fabulous in seconds? I’m not so sure if that’s what I want my hair to look like…
There are plenty of great Testimonials on their website, of course, but is it just another one of those as-seen-on-tv things?
Check out this little clip I found about BumpIts on You Tube…
You don’t have to watch the whole thing… About 20-30 seconds of it will give you a pretty good idea of what it is… Then you can watch the the version on their home page.
Personally, I would think it would be heavy and feel funny sitting in there all day. And what if it came loose? And what if you have thin hair and it shows through? So many things could go wrong with this!
Maybe it would be useful for special occasions like your prom or wedding, but I can’t imagine using it for every day use. What do you ladies think?
Fabulous Find or Fashion Nightmare? Add your two cents…
What d’ya mean, you don’t have to watch the whole thing? I couldn’t keep my eyes off it: the bad roots, the “rock star bumpits – when you absolutely must rock”, the faux newscaster’s already voluminous hair looking the exact same after being bumped! All that’s missing are those infomercial “before” photos in black & white showing uncoordinated women struggling at their impossibly flat heads. Thanks for the laughs :-)
First thought. What happens we you leave the house and hit wind?
How awkward would it be when someone went to touch your hair and was like, “WHAT is that?!”
LOL yeah, no kidding!
or what if it like, came loose? So many opportunities for failure… just seems like a boo boo waiting to happen.
Bumpits is a knock off of the Original Hair Bumping Styling Tool the Vidal Sassoon Hair Poufs. Try those because they have a built in comb/clip that holds pouf securely in place. Comes in the color of your hair so it cannot be seen. No teeth at the top that show through hair.
I wear them occasionally, and actually they do fit very securely. I have very thick hair though, so it has a lot to grab onto. The only thing that I have noticed is you have to work with it a little so you dont look like a conehead. And it works better with half up or up do’s. I bought mine at walgreens for $10 and I would say for a more dressy or formal occasion, the $10 is worth skipping a trip to the salon, but maybe not so practical for everyday.
bumpits are amazing. i use them about three to five days a week . i do cheer and i tumbled in them and they didnt even move. so you dont have to worry about them falling out. and also no matter how thin your hair is , as long as you tease it enough it wont show . so all yall trying to hate on it are WRONG ! (:
@6 & 7 well it’s awesome to hear from someone who has actually tried these things!
But like #2 said, what about wind? And people with thin hair? I would be concerned about it showing and having to explain to people why you have a plastic object in your hair… lol
I got these things at icings for 3 dollars. They are amazing and so cool. I can’t belive you would make fun of these things. Btw if they do hit wind they wont really show :D
