Purex Complete 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets: Laundry Has Never Been Easier!
This past week was my “laundry week” and I know you’re thinking, “Good Lord, woman! Laundry shouldn’t take you a whole week!” but hey, I have a 2 year old that’s glued to my hip 24/7. Doesn’t really help me get anything done, nevermind lugging heavy baskets of dirty clothes up and down stairs all day. Why so much laundry? What can I say? I put it off until we’re all out of underwear…
So after 2 days of going commando, I headed downstairs to tackle the 6 loads of laundry that awaited me… Well, I got 4 loads done during the week and then today I finished the other 2 loads. My husband was gone on a business trip all week, so he brought home an additional load of laundry on top of that… Ugh, does it ever end?!
Well at least laundry is a little less miserable thanks to the new Purex Complete 3 in 1 Laundry Sheets.
No, they aren’t dryer sheets… well, they are, but they’re that and much more! In each little sheet, there is one load’s worth of detergent, softener and anti-static all in one powerful sheet. You just drop the sheet in the wash with all your clothes, then transfer it with your clothes into your dryer. That’s it.
Okay, so no more measuring detergent, mixing it into the water before you add your clothes, then running to the wash machine in time to add the softener, and then adding a anti-static dryer sheet to the load when it goes into the dryer. For me, that’s really good news because half the time, I forget to do at least one of those things… If you are a busy mom, Purex Complete 3 in 1 Laundry Sheets are an answer to your prayers and laundry woes. They smells fresh and clean, not overbearing, and they are sooo easy to use. You’re going to love them!

They hit store shelves this May, so you should be able to find them in your local supermarket or where ever you normally purchase laundry detergent like Wal Mart and Target. Suggested retail pricing for both the 20 sheet Starter Kit (includes convenient dispenser) and the 24 sheet refill pack is $5.99-$7.49.

Sounds great and a time saver! But I must find out if this are eco friendly, and I’m going green in my home!
I tried the Purex 3 in 1 and I wouldn’t recommend them! I loved the idea of not having all those bottles of other things all over, one sheet does it all. I found myself using extra fabric softener and Bounce dryer sheets. I even used a little more laundry detergent! I love using Purex, I use the Purex Natural Elements right now. I have used Purex for years and will continue to do so but I really really wouldn’t recommend using these. I tried to post my experience on the Purex site and they wouldn’t allow it!
Kira is right they do not work well. Someone had a great idea but it needs improvement. If you use them you will find yourself having to use two of these sheets and a laundry sheet like Bounce in the dryer because they do not stop static electricity.
Perhaps your loads of laundry are too big?? Or maybe your clothes are particularly dirty??? I don’t use them when I wash my husband’s jeans or anything. They are best for light loads of laundry that don’t have a bunch of stains or anything. I use pre-wash like oxiclean spray on stains. The Purex sheets work great for me…
The Purex Sheets work well for me. They seem to clean slightly better than liquid Purex. From a green angle, I like that it uses less plastic and no water to ship around.
I have been using 3 in 1 and love the convenience but it has come at a cost. It has ruined several articles of clothing with spots. The package says if spotting occurs rub with a white bar of soap. The spots were not discovered until after drying process and the stains were set in. I am done using these the convenience is not worth the cost to replace my clothing.
Missy, now that you mention it…
I did a load of jeans with the 3 in 1 and they came out fine, but right afterwards I washed my favorite organic percale cotton sheets that I paid over $100 for and they came out spotted like they had been bleached. Big giant white spots on my pretty light blue sheets!!!!! I thought about it being the 3 in 1, but I had only used it in the load before… I washed my sheets the same way I always do with Purex Natural Elements to wash and a little bit of fragrance free Downy, neither of which have I ever had a problem with.
So maybe it was the leftover residue from the 3 in 1 that ruined my sheets.
Grrr…..
It worked fine on the jeans though. And towels.
Warning!!! I ruined 3 sets of sheets and 2 pair of slacks using this product. I had just purchased a set of sheets and one pair of the slacks. I suppose you could launder jeans, but it’s not worth it, for just jeans. The directions say do not use a hot dryer. I used only medium heat.
Hello ladies! I am so happy to see your post. I started using the 3 in 1 sheets as soon as they hit the market -I loved the idea. But to date….3 of my daughters shirts have been ruined- I thouhgt maybe it was the pre-treater that I was using to spot clean her stuff (toddler) – but than my husband’s wash came out with the same white spotting on it -and what is even more odd- is that small holes were around the white marks that clearly were not there before. It sort of looks like the clothes were bleached. I am happy that I have figured out the Purex is the source of the problems -I will not be using these any longer.
SAME PROBLEM!
What makes me REAL mad is that I followed Purex’s directions for the sheets and all of these clothes got stained any way. Purex needs to correct this or get this product off the market!
I didn’t give up on fighting to getting the stains out! The real bummer for me was that I didn’t notice the stains until after they went through the dryer- So needless to say, they became “set-in” stains… It was me vs. them, and let me tell you, it has been war between me and them for the last several days and I am happy to report that I won 80% of the battle! I tried EVERY stain remover product on the market, even some pet stain removers, like Nature’s Miracle, as well as MANY home recipes and I FINALLY got some cooperation with the product ” OxiClean MAX FORCE”. I followed the directions to a T on the back of the bottle and I would say I got the stains “completely out” of 4 of 8 pairs of Dockers and 6 of 9 of his shirts. Some articles however, I did have to do twice… The ones that weren’t successful did however lessen, but they were still visible. So ladies, I guess it depends on the fabric blend and colors of the clothes, but there is hope!
I especially encourage you to use this OxyClean MAX FORCE if you are fortunate enough to notice the stains right as they come out of the washer- before they get “set-in” by the dryer. If you do, I bet OxyClean MAX FORCE will remove all of the stains for you right away!
OH! I did have a pink robe (fake silk- which I guess would be 100% polyester), that got severely stained by the sheet- I doused pretty much the whole robe with the OxiClean MAX FORCE and it came out of the wash perfectly, the first time! So I think if you have any articles of clothing that is 100% polyester, your chances of getting rid of these stains are REAL GOOD! If anyone else has a successful Purex stain removal experience, please post it! Good luck ladies!

Kim

I found a MIRACLE WORKER to rid all of these stains from the Purex Complete 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets! ALL of my stains were DEEP set-in stains, as all of my clothing had been washed and dried 4-5 times since the stains first appeared… As I mentioned in my above post (sorry by the way, as there are two of them- an accidental dup) OxiClean MAX FORCE helped quite a bit, but for the stains that didn’t want to budge, I figured what the heck, what’s left is considered ruined, so what have I got to lose? So, I tried Goo-Gone (quite convenient in the spray bottle) and lo & behold, it did the trick and didn’t leave any stains of it’s own either! So, before you toss your garments that you’re figuring are now totally ruined… Give ’em one last try with Goo-Gone and I bet you will be glad you did! I just simply applied Goo-Gone to each and every stain and then tossed the garments in the washing machine using the warm water setting and that was that. Your garnets may need to be washed a second or third time to completely eliminate the Goo-Gone smell from your clothes, but that’s no biggie, since now you’re grinning from ear to ear that you got those stains out! Good luck everyone and THANKS GOO-GONE!

I am a technician at a university and will tell you to not use this product. It will get into the drain system of your machine and clog it up. Any savings for convenience will be drained by the cost of a service man coming to your home to remove it. Also, depending how long you have used it, there may be another sheet waiting to replug the pump. Requiring another service call. At the present rates it would not be a nice experience.
Four no iron expensive new shirts from Coldwater Creek were completely covered with oily spots after laundering them with Purex 3 in 1. I’m heart sick. It had to be the product because I am using a Maytag Bravos washer and the shirts were straight ouf of the mailing package. Help… how can I remove these spots.
I can get the spots out with hot water and a bar of soap. The package says to use medium heat and the auto dry setting…just an fyi.
Quick thanks to Kim for posting her suggestions on how to eliminate the spots left by the 3 in 1 sheets. Goo Gone spray definitely eliminated the stains on most of our affected clothing items and significantly reduced them on the rest. Our clothes are all wearable again. Thanks, Kim!!!
WARNING BEWARE! I just dug one of these 3 in 1 sheets out of the water pump on my washer. It made its way into the water pump, clogged it up, and flooded my laundry room floor. I had to dismantle my washer and take out the water pump, and there it was, tangled inside and blocking my water pump. I’ll never use them again, and Purex won’t pay for washer repairs, and they fail to mention the possibility of this happening on the product. WARNING BEWARE!!!
I had the whole getting clogged in the drain pipe happen this weekend. Only used the product a couple of times when wassher started making this noise and the water would ot drain. After pulling out the soaking wet clothes, tried it again. Still would not drain. Me and my husband had to take the washer apart, pull off the drain hose, making a wet mess, then had to work the sheet out of the pump. Took us over two hours to work on it. Luckly me and my husband can do that type of thing otherwise we would have had to call out someone to fix it. Now I am stuck with two packages of washer sheets I will never use again. I have a front loader washer. I recommend you not use this product if you do not want to call out a service man.
