Tips on All Natural Approaches to Boosting the Libido
Whole Foods Market® Helps Shoppers Get in the Mood for Valentine’s Day with In-store Lectures and Podcasts Provide Tips on All Natural Approaches to Boosting the Libido.
According to the National Health and Social Life[1] survey, 32 percent of women and 15 percent of men lacked sexual interest for several months within the last year. As part of its “Be Good to Your Whole Body” campaign in its Whole Body departments, Whole Foods Market focuses on libido during the month of February.
In-store lectures by Whole Body experts and podcasts will provide shoppers with ideas and tips on natural options for libido support in time for Valentine’s Day, such as herbs and supplements for a healthy libido, tips for lifestyle changes that can increase the desire for sex, amorous ideas for inspiring libido and foods to get you in the mood.
“Herbs or medicinal plants like Maca, Horny Goat Weed and Rhodiola have historically supported healthy sex drive in men and woman,” said Chris Kilham, expert on medicinal plants and author of Hot Plants:Nature’s Proven Sex Boosters for Men and Women. “Known as adaptogens, these plants not only pack a punch in the bedroom, they can help improve energy and reduce stress, all of which contribute to libido function.”
In addition to herbs and supplements, lifestyle factors can boost romance and increase sexual desire.
Ideas include:
- Creating a candlelit dinner with foods known to be aphrodisiacs like oysters, sage, white onions. Chocolate, a Valentine’s Day favorite, has been the choice of lovers and royalty for centuries.
- Relaxing with aromatherapy or massage with 100% pure essential oils. Learning to manage stress has uncountable benefits to health overall and can positively affect sex drive. In another survey[2], women reported the most important factor they believe would improve their sexual satisfaction was less stress.
Several resources are available online, including an audio podcast with Chris Kilham on his top picks for medicinal plants used historically around the world to support healthy libido in men and woman. A second podcast explores additional natural options for libido support, including nutrients, supplements and body care elements that may help.
