I have personally found that they run slightly large, so I don’t recommend sizing up in anticipation of her feet growing. My daughter (pictures above) is 9 years old and wears size 1 sandals and size 2 sneakers. We got the Khombu Cheeky in size 2 and they are a little too big for her to wear with barefeet at the moment.She has slender, narrow feet, which I’m sure contributes to this as the Khombu Cheeky sandals are quite roomy in how they fit. Just something to keep in mind when choosing your size! Just another reason why it’s important to read shoe reviews.
Thankfully, they are fully adjustable with elastic laces that can be tightened and then locked into place with a toggle. The straps across the back are velcro for further adjustability.
These sandals have held up to all my daughter’s outdoor shenanigans and appear to be very durable. If they get wet from the pond, beach or running through the sprinklers. I have found that they dry rather quickly. They really are an excellent choice for those that enjoy boating, kayaking, camping, going to the beach or lake, hiking, and every other outdoor adventure you want to go on!
My daughter loves these sandals and says they are more comfortable than her favorite running shoes. I suspect that is because they are so supportive and have such a durable, grippy sole. I know you and your child will love Khombu Kids shoes and sandals too!
