  1. Hey, I really like the idea of the skinny jeans with a dress. Still, from all my studying during “What Not To Wear” LOL, I would imagine most fashion “advisers” would tell the average woman to proceed with caution when it comes to the skinny jean. It’s not going to elongate, it’s going to make any hips bigger than Kate Moss’ look really curvy…but I do think it can be super cute if you can pull it off. At my current size and gooey-ness, I think I should avoid :)

  2. I’m a mom too and I have yet to find a pair of these I can wear. I’m 5’9″ and a size 4 and still cannot make my way into a pair…LOL I have tried on every brand imaginable and by body just isn’t having it ;) Lucky for me, I LOVE wide leg jeans and they look great on me.

If you can get into a skinny jean, more power to ya sista!

  3. I’m a size 6 right now and I can wear them! If I can, you definitely can…

I’m betting you haven’t tried NYDJ skinny jeans. I can fit into their size 4’s… which is like a little miracle. The secret to finding skinny jeans to fit our bodies is 4% or more spandex. Most “stretch” jeans only have 2%. You really need the 4% or more if you have any semblance of a shape to ya.

You can try them on at Nordstroms. You have no idea what you’re missing!

And you can get them on eBay for less than $30.

  4. Tried those too. Truthfully, I like the look of a boot cut or wide-leg better on me anyway, so it’s not a big deal.

  5. Great article! Although I personally can’t wear them. I am too large for them to fit properly. I prefer a wide legged – bell bottomish – type of jean. I dunno, it seems to look better on my short legs too!

  6. I am a recent house wife. Just out of a job and loving it. I love this site and looking forward to reading more blogs. Any tips??

  7. I am a convert to skinny jeans. I am generally a size 8 and bought a pair of Vera Wang at Kohls (so we are not talking expensive here). Since you can wear flowly and/or long tops, I totally agree that they can cover a problem midsection. Plus, they look great with tall boots in the winter and make you look oh so stylish.

  8. Oh, Dhanashree, I forgot to answer your question. I just found this blog and love it. My other fave is You Look Fab (youlookfab.com). She gives awesome advice and their are forums where readers can post outfits, ask questions, etc.

  9. I love love love skinny jeans. And I happen to be a very curvy size 9, but the trick i find is wear your size make sure it fits ( no muffin tops or unusually leg ripples) and your golden. Trust me I’ve seen a women of a size 16 in them and she looked great it’s all about how you jazz it up. I’ve gotten some from target yes target and they looked goood :)
