Inspired by the energy that illuminates the night in crowded tapas bars throughout Spain, the name Tapeña (tah-PAY-nyah) comes from a fusion of the Spanish word tapas (TAH-paz), flavorful foods to share and peña (PAY-nyah), slang for a group of close friends. Tapeña wines are crafted with de alegría de vivir (the joy of living) in mind.

Made from Spanish grape varieties grown in the Tierra de Castilla region in the heart of Spain, Tapeña wines have been created using classic Spanish techniques with a modern twist and are meant to be enjoyed late into the evening with great food and friends on either side of the Atlantic.

Rosé

This luscious combination of the most widely planted grapes in Spain—a seductive Garnacha and a juicy Monastrell, also known as Mourvedre in France—with a hint of Shiraz for more body, creates a perfect Spanish Rosé that is enjoyably young, crisp and refreshing. Sometimes considered the best of both worlds, with the lush flavors of a white wine and the structure of a red without tannins, Tapeña’s Rosé is made with 55 percent Monastrell, 40 percent Garnacha and five percent Shiraz.

    Tasting Notes: Tapeña Rosé is full of red summer fruit aromas, grenadine, cherry and strawberry over a backdrop of aromatic herbs. It’s soft and silky on the palate, but with a fine freshness underlining the ripe berry flavors. The palate is full of bright stone fruit that is beautifully balanced with a crisp, refreshing acidity and a lingering finish with a hint of minerality.

Winner will be chosen with Random.org and notified by email within 7 days of contest end and asked for full name, address and phone number (for shipping purposes).   176. Several of the recipes sound really good, but I think the one I’d try first is Sizzling Garlic Shrimp Easy Skewers. Yum!
