What to Wear for a Spring/Summer Wedding

Spring is here and love is in the air. Even if it’s not in the air around you, chances are you’re on the guest list for at least one wedding in the next couple months. Weddings are tough. You need to look good, but not too good. You can’t show up the bride, after all!

What you wear also depends on the time of the wedding.  Morning and afternoon weddings are typically more casual than evening ones.  For casual weddings, go for a bright colors, shorter lengths, and flat shoes. This Betsey Johnson dress is a great option because it of its light and playful look. Plus when you choose a print, you are less likely to look like a wannabe bridesmaid if you happen to wear a similar color.

As I mentioned before, I would wear flats to an early wedding for a more casual look.  Flats have made a comeback in the last few years, so you have plenty of options. I like this pair from Juicy Couture because the pouf detail makes them look a little more chic.

When you’re attending an evening wedding, you are usually expected to appear in formalwear. Go for darker colors, longer hemlines, and heels. I like this black dress because it has a touch of personality without going overboard.

Still unsure about what to wear?  Remember that moderately conservative is always a safe way to go and only the bride gets to wear white. Follow those two tips and you’ll be a-ok!
