4 Ways to Make Your Backyard Pool a Summertime Oasis

What is a summertime oasis?
A summertime oasis is a step beyond your average swimming pool experience. It’s an environment that adds wellness and richness to simple swimming. Depending on your taste, it can be designed in many different styles. For some, an oasis could be a tropical getaway; for others, a desert hideaway, or even your very own 5-star spa resort. Based upon your vision of your swimming space, landscapers and contractors can create a vacation destination in your own backyard.
Keep in mind that, although you may have heard that you should install a pool in the fall, there’s really no bad time to do so. And what could be more refreshing on hot summer days than soaking in your pool?
1. Create a sense of privacy.
You probably wouldn’t want your neighbors to peek into your sanctuary. Fortunately, you can add fences, plant a large hedge or create a living wall to ensure you, your family and your guests have a private place to relax and play. Apart from privacy, there are three other main points to consider in the design of your backyard refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily living.
2. Add an outdoor sitting area.
Every summertime oasis needs a sitting area where you can relax, read a great book or host a romantic dinner or a game night. Decorate your patio or a standalone gazebo with comfortable garden furniture. Decorate your space with patterned cushions, plants and various ornaments for visual interest.
3. Think about your garden design.

Apart from these water features, use the land around the pool to brighten up sightlines and provide a lush appearance. For example, you can plant Eucalyptus, Lavender, or Basil. Not only will these plants freshen the air, but their beautiful colors will give character to your whole yard. Just be ready to maintain your garden regularly to make it look like a summertime oasis. Keeping this in mind, make sure you mow the lawn, pull the weeds, trim the tree branches and water the garden regularly!
Include pool floats to make the garden design complete. Align them to the colors you use for the furniture for the tents and other elements in the garden. 4. Don’t forget about the kids.
