Your eyes get penetrated by light, which keeps you awake and prevents you from falling asleep right away. Instead, dim the lights in your room and turn off any screens for an hour before bed. This combination of darkness and no screen time will tell your mind you’re ready for sleep. Read a book during this time or do some yoga to relax. Then, when it’s time for bed, you will fall asleep almost right away and stay asleep throughout the night.
Obviously, along with these three hacks, you must ensure you have a proper bedtime set. Think about when you need to be up in the morning, then calculate when you should go to sleep to get the full eight hours. I’d also suggest trying to get an extra hour or two on the weekends when you don’t have to be up so early.
