Making a few dietary adjustments to your daily routine will have extraordinary results on your health. From better skin to more energy, the reasons why a balanced diet is vital are endless. 

Countless companies specialize in health and organic foods, and if you are looking at health food stores Utah while in the area, you will be one step closer to controlling your diet. Shopping for organic and free-range foods where possible and taking high-quality dietary supplements is a wise decision for your health.

Add Extra Fiber

Adding legumes (basically all beans, peas, and lentils) to your diet can have significant effects on your digestive system, from better bowel movements to naturally lowering cholesterol. 

Fiber content is exceptionally high in oats, a great breakfast food, and can also make a mouthwatering home-baked biscuit. Fiber is known to help control body weight. Now, that reason alone can be good enough for anybody who wants to change eating habits for a healthier life. 

The recommended daily intake for fiber is about twenty-five grams a day, that’s about two hundred grams of leafy greens or one cup of legumes.

Understand Healthy Fat

So many people think all fat is bad, but some types are essential. However, you need to understand the difference. Unsaturated fats come from avocados, olive oil, and nuts. Now here is an interesting fact: saturated fat is good for you. 

It’s the fat that becomes solid at room temperature. Mainly found in animals and plant-based coconut oil has the highest amount. So when wanting to add healthy fat to your diet, look to add olive oil and avocado oil.

Water Is Life

The benefits of enjoying clean drinking water instead of fizzy drinks are out of this world, and few people think about it. From clearing your skin to cleaning your kidneys, drinking an adequate amount of water offers benefits that keep you healthy inside and out. 

However, drinking too much water per day can have a negative effect on your body. The recommended daily intake is one ounce of water for every pound you weigh. But this is only recommended for the average person. A great way to make sure you are drinking enough water is the Hydrojug.

Don’t Starve

The truth is starving yourself to lose weight is never a good idea apart from the effects damaging your organs and your ability to think. 

One of the main reasons starving yourself to lose weight does not work is that your body will store weight more fiercely to keep you going. You change your body’s metabolism into storing more fat than anything else every time you eat, even if you only eat occasionally. The best diets involve eating smaller meals but more meals throughout the day.

Snacking Can Be Good

On the other hand, you can make many snacks at home. If you want, an easy example is a simple peanut butter sandwich that has all the crucial nutrients that you need to keep you going until your next meal.

Question The Menu

You may come off as a bit picky, but it’s important to know what you are ordering. By asking questions about the meal, you will know if there are harmful ingredients like MSG and others. You will also discover things like calorie count, depending on where you are eating out. 

And if you’re following a diet, knowing what goes into your food can be great as you will know what to avoid if the food is not according to your new adjusted meal plan.

Never Skip Breakfast

Breakfast is assumably one of the most skipped meals in the world. The harmful effects of skipping breakfast too often can cause many issues such as lower energy levels and weight gain. Even though many of us work from home these days, it is still an issue many people face. 

There are countless replacements, such as a breakfast smoothie or muesli. You don’t have to have a full breakfast every day; just a simple meal that can offer you enough energy until you eat your snack or lunch is efficient to stay healthy.

Eat More Fish 

Fish is high in good fats, protein, and essential B vitamins. Eating fish three times a week has shown significant evidence that it is far better than eating meat every day of the week. 

And if you find yourself with a busy schedule, remember this fish cooks quicker than meat, making your life a little easier to handle if you decide to add fish to your diet if you cook at home every day.

Portion Control

Controlling portions means that you should eat until you are full without overeating. Doing this takes trial and error. The amount of food you have on your plate or in your bowl is a portion, and if it’s too large or too small, you’ll need to adjust it to compliment your ideal weight. 

Portion control is essential to maintaining weight and staying focused throughout the day. This is arguably one of the most important dietary adjustments one should make.

Introduce Whole Grains

Whole grains can be found in pasta, bread, and rice. There Are numerous others, but these are the easiest to find. Eating one slice of whole wheat bread, which has a high amount of roughage, can significantly improve your gut health. 

Popcorn is classified as whole grain; good news for movie lovers. Using olive oil and a few of your favorite herbs and spices, you can make popcorn a healthy snack.

No matter how much you exercise, maintaining a healthy balanced diet remains vital for everyone. Without healthy eating habits, you will slowly gain or lose weight and increase your chances of destructive health issues. 

You don’t really need to be a chef to create healthy, mouthwatering meals to make some dietary adjustments. All you need is the right ingredients, devotion to healthy living, and the ability to avoid fast food and unhealthy convenience options.

Eating healthy is just one way you can prioritize your health in 2022.

This little guy always asks to help when he sees me cleaning the house, washing the floors, doing laundry, or emptying the dishwasher. That’s what I love about Montessori parenting - it allows kids to do  big jobs and in turn makes them eager to help! 

He was over the moon when we gave him the @lovevery floor mop that actually works! He uses it daily now. The mopping pad is machine washable and you can refill the fluid container on it. I usually just do water and a drop of essential oils because he loves it when everything smells clean! 😜

Today was my due date for Dylan. Considering he w Today was my due date for Dylan.

Considering he was my 6th child, it's possible he would have been here by now. It’s been extra hard for me this week. 

Despite my best efforts to be strong and stay positive, I am completely brokenhearted. I’m just being honest. I could pretend I’m fine, but that doesn't do me or anyone else any good to be dishonest about the pain of miscarriage or the grief that comes with losing a child. 

My heart is completely shattered from having an empty womb and an empty nursery. An empty bassinet in the corner and unused tiny newborn outfits, all washed, folded, and ready… for nothing. 

It makes me physically sick to my stomach when I think about it all and I can't even fathom how I got here. How did I get here? 

This isn't how it's supposed to be! I should be holding a newborn right now! It’s so unfair. 

In an instant, my baby was gone and there was nothing I could do to change that. 

It doesn't matter how much time passes or what else happens in life, I will always miss him. My heart with always long for my baby. 

Those who haven't experienced loss tell you that "Don’t worry! Things will get better, just focus on the positive!" but people who actually know this grief and what it actually feels like to lose a baby, won’t tell you that. They know this hard road. They understand that unfortunately you don't just “get over it.” 

The grief doesn't just go away, even if you try to ignore it, it's still there. Like the sun. You don’t have to look at it to know it’s there. You can turn your back on it but it will still warm your skin. 

The grief from losing a child is unbearable. 
It is unpredictable.
It is unforgiving.
It is relentless.
It is all-consuming.
And it completely shatters you when you don’t expect it. 

You don’t get over it. You don’t forget. You simply learn to live with it. And I’m learning to live with it every day. 

It’s been 137 days I’ve had to live without my baby. 

Lord Jesus, please… hold me extra tight tonight.
