If you are a mom, you know that sickness can strike your home at any time. You do everything you can to help prevent it from avoiding playdates to using antibacterial soap and disinfecting wipes religiously. No matter what your personal “anti-sickness” regime is, sometimes… sick happens.
If your child starts to experience any cold-like symptoms, head over to Sick just got real.™ website to use the Sick Sense Relief Finder to determine the best solution to your child’s symptoms, track the sickness reports in your area and even learn a few sickness hacks.
While I like to use “crunchy” alternative medicine whenever possible, there are three game-changers I always keep on hand for when “sick” hits our house.
Sometimes, modern medicine is a welcome relief, especially if you have been up all night with an achy, cranky, emotional, feverish child. When a warm bath and snuggles won’t work, you can ease away their aches and pains, while reducing your child’s fever fast with Children’s Advil®. It’s a great solution for kids as young as 2 and up to age 11. Children’s Advil® actually comes in several flavors, including: Sugar-free Dye-free Berry, Bubble Gum, Grape, Blue Raspberry, Fruit and Dye-Free White Grape flavor (which is the one I always purchase). There’s also Infants’ Advil® White Grape, which is also dye-free and provides unsurpassed fever relief with a syringe so you can easily administer the dose to your child ages 6-23 months.
When things get really rough, then it’s time to break out the Children’s Robitussin® DM Day/Night Pack (Children’s Robitussin® Cough & Chest Congestion and Children’s Robitussin® Nighttime Cough). The non-drowsy daytime formula helps break up chest congestion, while the long lasting nighttime formula helps to relieve coughs and runny noses so your child can rest easier.
Is their coughing getting totally out of control and the hot cup of lemon water with honey isn’t cutting it? Then it’s probably time for Children’s Dimetapp® Cold & Cough. It tackles your child’s most bothersome symptoms like a 6ft bouncer. Stuffy and runny noses, don’t stand a chance against this stuff and it will relieve their coughing too.
**It is important to remember to always read and keep the cartons for complete warnings and dosing information on Pfizer Pediatric Platform products and to use only as directed!
There are a few other items I always keep in my medicine cabinet to help boost our immune systems to help prevent illness in the first place like echinacea, garlic, vitamin C and a few others! As Benjamin Franklin said, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”!
