There were so many amazing dresses at the Grammy Awards, I couldn’t choose just ONE to post about! That is until I saw Adele, whom for the record, I totally adore. I did however, NOT adore that dress she wore to the 2013 Grammy Awards.
Oh. My. God.
I think it’s pretty safe to say that no one is going to be searching for a “get the look for less” post on this one. Am I right?
We know Adele is fierce and totally non-conformist, but I think this was making that point a little too loud and clear. I love that she was going for a 60’s housewife type look (I think?!) but it just didn’t work. She looks like a cupcake. I think it would be hard for anyone to pull off that print (other than my grandmother’s couch) but it was really the shape, cut and fit that did this one in. She could of looked very flattering, sexy and chic in just about anything else.
I would have preferred to see her in something like this…
This Bellevue Wiggle Dress from Unique Vintage would have been so much more flattering on her! The cut would have flattered her curves, the top would have been high and modest without looking like it was choking her, the length would have been just as flattering and the shorter sleeves would have definitely been more comfortable. She looks like she was terribly uncomfortable in that Valentino Spring 2013 Couture number…
Another dress I would have preferred to see her in would have been something like this…
This Define Your Shape Dress from Avon also would have been flattering on her body type, has a splash of color and best of all, it’s washable! We love anything low maintenance.
I have that dress and it really is quite flattering and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a “Award Show” worthy dress that is in the budget and is low maintenance. I wear this one a lot, but I keep it looking fresh by washing it in Gain. (I recommend Gain if you value your clothes. Plus it smells great!)
My dream job would be the honor of being Adele’s personal stylist and shopper. I would LOVE to get my hands on that beautiful woman and dress her in gorgeous, figure flattering clothes that were both age appropriate and sexy. If she HAS a personal stylist, I’d like to get my hands on her too, but mainly to choke her…
