It’s been a busy season for you. Hunting down sales for items on a seemingly endless list of things your kids want, decorating the home, cooking for the potluck at your relative’s place, traveling, wrapping presents… Thank goodness it’s all over! But just because Christmas is over doesn’t mean you’re relaxed. I know I’m still wound up!
It’s time to take a minute for yourself and relax. Here are some inexpensive ways to help you relax and unwind after all the work you’ve done.
Salt scrubs are a great addition when you’re soaking in the bath. They scrub away the dead skin cells and leave you felt clean and your skin soft and renewed. Try to find scents that help you feel calm, like herbs or spices, so you can let it dissolve in the hot water after you’re done scrubbing and just focus on you. Be careful not to fall asleep in the tub though!
Lavender candles will help you fill your home with a feeling of zen. This little purple flower’s scent actually has properties that are proven to help you relax and be calm, so definitely put it to good use. Light one next to your bed before going to sleep and maybe read a little before tucking in, and you will have a seriously deep and restful sleep.
Here’s one and you and your dearest can enjoy. You can take turns giving and receiving massages to help both of you de-stress with the help of massage oil. It’ll take out the tension in your muscles and at the same time strengthen the bond between you two, and allow for some quality time after all the chaos.
It’s not even January, but spring 2010 fashion is already well on it’s way to the racks. Don’t wait until your see sprouting flowers to get in on the trends. A bright colored bag would be the perfect gift for yourself; look for vibrant, lively hues that evoke thoughts of blossoms and new grass shoots. Even as winter continues for the next few months, you’ll be a sunny reminder to anyone who sees you with your new bag and spring is just around the corner!
Don’t let the holidays overwhelm you. Make sure you take a moment to check in with yourself and maintain a positive attitude!
