The Fashionable Housewife’s Summer Beauty Routine

Oh hallelujah! Summer is almost here – my favorite time of the entire year! Since I live in New England, we have around 9 months of suck and 3 months of summer, so once that warm weather hits, it’s time for PAR-TAY!

Since summer is so fleeting in my neck of the woods, I don’t like to waste any time indoors. My summer beauty routine is simple, quick and efficient. I don’t have time to fuss and muss, especially with 3 kids, so I’ve developed a summer beauty routine that gets me looking presentable in the least amount of time. Okay, I know that probably doesn’t sound very impressive, but stay with me! I think you’ll be surprised…

Hair

I don’t have time nor the energy to wash my hair everyday. Yeah, just go ahead and stick your shock and horror back under your hat for another day. Seriously, who wants blowout their hair every single morning? Not me!

I have a chin-length choppy bob that I wash with TRESemme Perfectly (un)Done Shampoo and conditioner. When I get out of the shower, I very lightly squeeze my hair with a microfiber hair towel just to soak up the excess water but not dry my hair. (My hair is super thick so if I let it completely air dry, it would literally take several hours) I then work in (un)Done Sea Foam into my damp hair to create air-light waves that are soft and full of body. Before it fully dries, I spritz it with (un)Done sea salt spray to finish the look.

After sleeping on it, refreshing the look is easy. I just spray it with plain water, scrunch with my hands and I’m done! I can sometimes do this for one more day depending on how bad it looks after sleeping on it. If spritzing it with water doesn’t revive it, I just put my head upside down in the tub and get it completely wet without touching it or using any shampoo. Then I just squeeze it gently, pat my scalp dry with the hair towel and let it air dry. It doesn’t wash out the styling products, it just refreshes the look.

Face

Recently, my skin care routine has been really simple and consisted mostly of LANEIGE Skincare Products from Target. In the morning, I wash my face with a cleanser, follow up with toner and moisturizer. In the evening, I wash my face with the same cleanser (or a makeup remover if I had a lot of makeup on) and then put on the water sleeping mask. (It’s AMAZING!)

Makeup

The best product I’ve discovered that really simplifies my beauty routine is the LANEIGE BB Cushion.
