One of my favorite Spring 2015 Hair Trends is the Undone Bob. It’s light, fun, sexy and young. Perfect for warmer weather and allegedly, it’s quite easy to style.
Since air-dried textured hair is so “in style”, I was really intrigued. What could be better for a busy mom of 3? Blow dry my hair? Yeah right! I’m Italian. My hair is super thick which makes it take about an hour to blow dry my hair. Ain’t nobody got time for that. So I thought “Eureka! This trend is my new best friend!”
Textured, messy hair that looks air-dried (whether or not it actually is) seemed like just the ticket.
After perusing Pinterest for textured bobs with California-surfer-girl-inspired beach waves (see above pics!), I decided to get the cut!
I headed in to my local salon, showed my girl Kate a few pics of what I wanted and what I didn’t want. “Not a mom bob! I don’t want to look like a soccer mom!” I told her! I gave her a lengthy and clearly unattainable list of magical things I wanted my hair to do that were near impossible considering I have enough hair on my head for at least 2 other people. She talked me back down to reality and then gave me this cute and very easy to maintain haircut.
Exhibit A
I swear I lost 5 pounds of hair.
Let me tell ya ladies, I might know a thing or two about fashion, but styling hair is not my area of expertise. So I did what I always do – research, research, research! I started watching a bunch of Youtube videos to figure out what the heck to do with my new hairdo!
Here are two videos I thought were helpful…
Then I got a bunch of new products to try out from TRESemmé to help create gorgeous and Perfectly Undone beach waves with minimal effort.
Get The Look: (un)Done Waves
Tips from TRESemmé Stylist, Jeanie Syfu
1. Apply TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creating Sea Foam to damp hair and begin to dry using hands. Gradually layer TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray to hair for added texture.
2. When hair is almost completely dry, use round brush to finish drying the hair for volume and smooth ends.
3. Using a 1″ curling iron create loose waves by wrapping hair vertically around the barrel leaving ends out; continue curling strands in alternate directions until all hair is curled.
4. Brush hair out using a Mason Pearson brush and lightly mist look with TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Ultra Brushable Hairspray. Shake out hair with fingers for a messy, undone texture.
