According to the latest report from the U.S. Department of Justice, 30% of female students age 6-12 are bullied at school or were cyber-bullied during the 2009-2010 school year. Because of this startling statistic, Secret Deodorant has launched a campaign designed to raise awareness and speak out against childhood bullying.
With their launch of Secret Mean Stinks Clinical Strength Deodorant, the company wants to protect not only against odor and wetness, but provide a way “to stick up for what really stinks – being mean!”
“Mean Stinks” deodorant is already available in stores and online via the P&G E-Store, and retails for $7.99-9.99. Secret also encourages girls via their Facebook page to speak out against bullies, identify different types of bullies, take the Mean Stinks Pinky Swear pledge and lots more.
Additionally, $1 of every Mean Stinks deodorant sold will go to benefit Girls on the Run, an empowerment program designed to stop bullying before it starts. Secret will donate up to $150,000 to the cause.
