We moved out of city and out into the boondocks back woods of New Hampshire almost 5 years ago. So hard to believe it’s been that long! It took a little bit of adjusting to get used to the fact that a grocery store was now a 35 minute drive from our house rather than a few minutes down the road, not to mention we can’t even get pizza delivered out here, but over all the move was definitely worth it. The kids love being outdoors, we have a huge yard for them to play in and we don’t have many neighbors so it’s an ideal situation for us.
Of course we knew what we were getting ourselves into before we moves, but he really hadn’t thought much about all the bugs we would encounter. Well let me tell you they are bad! We have an unbelievably high number of mosquitoes like you wouldn’t believe. We usually like to take walks in the woods or down our road to the beaver ponds where we pick wild blueberries, but some days it would be impossible to do that family activity because of the ridiculous number of mosquitoes that we would encounter on our family walk. No amount of fancy bugs prays (deet or otherwise) helped deter these super mosquitoes.
Thankfully we discovered Insect Shield clothing! What a lifesaver! We each have our own t-shirts now that repel the bugs much better than any bug spray we’ve ever tried. I wish I had known about Insect Shield clothing years ago. I probably could have saved at least $100 or more on bug spray and bug repellent devices that don’t work anyway!
Now we can enjoy our family walks to the pond or down the road, without the hassle of bug spray or constantly trying to outrun the bugs. We just throw on our Insect Shield treated clothing and head outdoors.
