Sabon’s Tal eau de toilette is described as a marine scent, and it intends to evoke images of seashells, sand dunes, and ocean breezes. The bottle is a very quality-looking glass, with a paper label, and a wooden-look top. I don’t mind having it sit out on the vanity; I find that Sabon’s packaging is some of the most luxurious and quality that I have come across, especially given the reasonable prices for their products.
Tal is labeled as unisex, and suitable for day or night. However, I wouldn’t necessarily concur with that. I find this fragrance to be too masculine, especially on the dry down. The top notes of the fragrance are Sicilian lemon and Italian Bergamot. The heart notes are only listed as “airy and floral” and the base notes as “woody notes” that “add an opposing raw masculinity”. I don’t particularly notice the Italian Bergamot, especially since I feel bergamot is used mostly in more feminine and oriental scents. It is however, obviously a citrus and marine scent. Tal is a perfect everyday scent for a man, but a bit masculine for women. Sabon has stores throughout the world, and American shops in New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and Massachusetts.
