I was lucky enough to receive the opportunity to try several new beauty products from Target recently and was super excited to review them for you, our lovely readers! What follows are my 100% honest opinions about each product – keep reading after the break for the full scoop!
Pixi Gel Eyeliner in Onyx
Prior to this product, I’d never used a gel eyeliner before – but I don’t know what I was waiting for! This eyeliner, which comes with its own brush, was super easy to apply and the pigmentation was excellent. Plus, when they say it stays put they are not lying. This baby was hard to take off even with my heavy duty makeup remover, and that’s saying a lot. While I’m normally a pencil liner gal, I’m making the switch to Pixi Gel Eyeliner for its ease of use, staying power and dense pigmentation. ($18)
Jemma Kid Smoke It Up I-Kit
This gorgeous eyeshadow palette features five coordinating shadows, a dual-sided eyeshadow brush and a handy mirror you can use for touch ups on the go. By using all of the shadows you can create the perfect smokey eye, or pick and choose for your own unique eye look. I loved how these shadows glide on effortlessly, and didn’t crease throughout the day (I did apply primer beforehand, however.) I was also really jazzed about how these colors are totally wearable; the exclusive silver shadow included with the compact works great as an accent color or highlighter at the corner of the eyes! ($22)
NP Set Eyeshadow Duo in Martinique
These pressed powder shadows are surprisingly wearable, and I was eager to try them. What I really like the most about this duo is that they are very richly pigmented, and look great when worn together for a contemporary smokey eye. I’ve also worn these shadows separately, with different eyeshadow in my makeup bag, and love how versatile they are. You can’t really beat the price either – they are definitely department store quality without the hefty price tag. Plus, they didn’t crease when I used primer beforehand – and stayed on for a good 6 hours without needing a touch up. ($10)
NP Set Eyelash – Copenhagen
Since I was such a huge fan of NP Set’s shadow duo, I was really hoping to like these falseย lashes. I can tell they are high quality, and would work great for those who want a fuller, more natural look. Unfortunately, these just did not work for me. I am more of a lash strip gal, and these individual lashes were a pain for me to put on. I’m not bashing the quality of this product at all; if you are used to individual lashes, these will probably work great for you. Regrettably, they just weren’t to my liking at all. ($10)
Overall, I’d have to give my Target beauty haul a 4 out of 5 stars; I loved almost all of the products, and even though the lashes didn’t work for me I know they are of good quality. You can purchase all of these new Target beauty additions at your local store, or by visiting Target.com. Come back and let me know what you think if you end up purchasing any of these!
