I had the opportunity to review the brand new Yes to Carrots Lip Butters and Color Balms recently and am excited to share my thoughts with you. For the full review, keep reading after the break.
Yes to Carrots Lip Butters
I received three flavors to try of these: Mint, Melon and Berry. These lip butters are actually the first certified USDA Organic lip balms available in drugstores, and contain a variety of ingredients designed to help soften, smooth, and condition lips. The ingredients are:
- Organic Carrot, Orange, Pumpkin & Melon Extracts – These are included to provide antioxidant protection
- Coconut Oil – To help the lip butters penetrate lips
- Olive Fruit Oil – A powerful moisturizer
- Jojoba See and Sunflower Oils – These oils are designed to nourish, condition and protect lips
- Vitamin E – Antioxidant protection
- Berry, Mint & Melon Beeswax – Helps lock in your lips natural moisture while forming a protective barrier
- Shea Butter – Hydrating and soothing
First Impressions
Mint
I love minty lip balms, and Yes to Carrots Mint Lip Butter was no exception. Not only did the formula glide smoothly onto my lips, but they felt immediately moisturized and protected. Plus, the moisture lasted a lot longer than I expected.
Melon
WOW – I adore the flavor of this! It works just as well as the Mint lip butter, but the flavor is absolutely delicious. I dare you to try not constantly licking your lips once you apply this.
Berry
Very fruity smelling, which is great if you like fruit scents. I do, so this was perfect for me. Again, the formula and application was just as soothing and moisturizing on this flavor as the others.
Overall
I absolutely love Yes to Carrots Lip Butters. I am a lip balm addict; I always have to have at least 10 around at any given time. These are moisturizing, flavorful and don’t leave an icky aftertaste like some lip balms. I do reapply these a lot, but that’s simply because I’m the type of person that needs to constantly reapplyย lip balm; honestly, these are some of the best balms I’ve ever used. They really are “buttery,” so Lip Butter is a fantastic name for them! I definitely recommend these to anyone whose unsatisfied with their current balm.

Yes to Carrots Color Balms
Since I was so impressed with their Lip Butters, I was really eager to try Yes to Carrots Color Balms. I received three varieties: Peachy Keen, Soft Plum and Rosy Bloom. These balms are designed to be just as nourishing as a lip balm, but with the added bonus of a hint of sheer color. The ingredients are:
- Sunflower Seed Oil – A good source of Vitamin E, which helps keeps lips soft and shiny
- Cocoa Seed Butter – A rich, emollient moisturizer to help create softer and more supple lips
- Jojoba Oil – Create a protective barrier on lips while also being very soothing
First Impressions
Peachy Keen
The lightest shade of the bunch, this color balm is very very pale – it really just enhanced the color of my natural lips without adding anything to it. However, it does glide on beautifully and leave lips nice and shiny.
Soft Plum
This is the darkest shade, and it actually looks terrifyingly dark in the tube. However, on lips it imparts a gorgeous sheer tint of color that some have been saying rivals Clinique’s famed Black Honey lip color.
Rosy Bloom
Honestly, color-wise this one was my favorite. It adds just enough color to be noticeable while feeling great on lips, too.
Overall
These Color Balms are great for women who want a hint of color without having to use a mirror; just swipe and go. Plus, they’re great for women who aren’t big fans of lipstick or gloss. They’re actually surprisingly moisturizing, and leave a nice glossy finish on lips – but don’t worry, it’s shine, NOT glitter or shimmer in case you were worried. Rosy Bloom is definitely my favorite, but I love Soft Plum too. Peachy Keen feels nice on lips, but since it’s very pale I recommend using this as your base for a complimentary lip color on top.
