I recently had the opportunity to try two of Bath & Body Works Liplicious Holiday glosses – Marshmallow Creme and Cranberry Kiss. As something of a lip gloss junkie, I was eager to see how these glosses stacked up to the competition. Keep reading after the break for my full review!
First Impressions
When I received the Marshmallow Creme and Cranberry Kiss Lip Glosses, I was immediately struck by the packaging. The cranberry gloss was decorated in an adorable holiday bow with the words “all I want is a cranberry kiss.”
The marshmallow flavored gloss was decorated with little marshmallows – too cute! Those of you who know me know I am a sucker for packaging, so I was already impressed from the get-go. Plus, the smells were heavenly. Marshmallow Creme smells exactly like you’d expect – a yummy, sweet scent, kind of like marshmallow creme in the jars. Cranberry Kiss also smells sweet, but not overly so.
Upon Use
I tried the Marshmallow Creme gloss first and I was incredibly glad I did. It glides on smoothly and has the most irresistible flavor around – I couldn’t stop licking my lips while I wore it! Plus, it has a nice subtle pink shimmer that looks great alone or worn over lip color.
When I used Cranberry Kiss, I was immediately fond of it. Normally, cranberry anything is too tart for me, but this gloss balances the flavor nicely. It’s sweet without being overpowering, and it lends lips a rosy pink shimmer that’s very, very flattering.
Both of these flavors are made with a moisturizing combination of Vitamin E and jojoba oils, but I really didn’t notice any superior moisturizing benefits over other lip gloss I’ve used in the past. They are also semi-sticky, which I don’t mind, but if you aren’t a fan of sticky glosses these may not work for you. (Personally, though, I think the irresistible scents/flavors are too good to pass up!)
Final Thoughts
It has been about two weeks now, and I am still using both lip glosses on a regular basis. Honestly, they smell good enough to eat and are very budget-friendly, making them great as stocking stuffers or a special treat for yourself. The glosses retail for $8 each, and can be purchased via BathandBodyWorks.com.
I would definitely recommend both Marshmallow Creme and Cranberry Kiss to all Fashionable Housewife readers – I honestly don’t dislike anything about them! Have you tried these lip glosses? Let me know what you think of them!
