Fashion Advice: All About Pink Aviator Sunglasses

Fashion Advice: All About Pink Aviator Sunglasses

It is undeniable that one of the most iconic looks of the last few decades involves a set of sunglasses meant to be worn by the aviators. It has become the mark of a true air master and is a distinction for the men all around the world of aviation. But now, it has taken a new route, from the rigid world of the pilots to the halls of fashion that demands a bit more finesse.

In this article, we are going to take a look back at some of the history of these bad boys up to the pink Aviator Sunglasses.

Pink Aviator Sunglasses: A Dash of History

Aviator sunglasses came to be as a correctional glasses for pilots that needed them. A certain company which is now renowned for creating the first contact lenses and other eye health products produced the first designs of aviator sunglasses. It took a little while however for the shape of the glasses to be finalized but it did not take long for people to take a liking into the slick look and quickly became a fad. Right after the glasses hit the skies, there came a demand for these fashion accessories to hit the shelves.

Unsurprisingly, the glasses were born from a request made by the military. They needed a new design for glasses wherein the pilot’s vision would be able to shield itself from the intense rays of the sun from all angles. With close participation of the military, the final design which resembled a teardrop was finally made with everyone’s approval including the fashion industry.

Pink Aviator Sunglasses: Brave Men in the Sky

Whenever the earlier pilots would land after they see an incoming conflict, the lot of them would complain about a certain strain which would arise because of the effects of the bright light from the sun when flying at higher altitudes. What was observed was that the intense strain which is felt in the pilot’s eyes would be the cause of them having to land earlier than expected. And this would mean that they would be grounded for a longer time than usual because they had to recover as their eyes tries to rid itself of the strain and exhaustion. Because there was quite a low number of men that knew how to fly and had an aptitude for it, the air force decided to commission an optics manufacturer in developing a brand new design for a pair of glasses which pilots would be able to wear. This new pair of glasses should be able to assist the riders by blocking out the rays of the sun.

As the optics company tweaked and experimented in creating the perfect pair of sunglasses which would satisfy the requirements hurled at them, they would come back with the iconic teardrop style wherein they have been determined to complete. Because they also had a niche for fashion as they had to find the only attractive way to be able to  completely cover the entire eye section from the sun. Unsurprisingly, as soon as these pair of glasses was put in practice, they gained the name aviators and every single pilot in the air force wanted to get a pair. The fashion choice slowly became widespread and soon enough every outdoor sportsmen started to buy a pair. At first, these were considered as luxury items simply because the complex design was meant to fly and not to do things like hunting or fishing. The trick here is that these glasses did not have any blind spot. Because of the shape of these sunglasses, it would not matter whatever direction or posture the wearer is looking in because their eyes would still remain shaded.

Pink Aviator Sunglasses: Born from Necessity

By the second world war, the pair of sunglasses would reach iconic status. They would then climb the ranks of fashion and became widely known as the face of every aviator. And because of its functionality and beauty, not only did the military personnel decide to wear them, but also did the commercial and even private pilots. When the american military took back the Philippines from its japanese invaders, stills from a moment which saw the famous General Douglas MacArthur wearing the military issued aviators all the while as he was smoking his iconic corn cob pipe. In all senses, this still went viral if there was a term for it during that time. And expectedly the world of Hollywood decided to pick up on the fashion trend and it gave its leading men a chance to show them off as they began to wear them in the movies of that time about the war. Whenever the pilots came home during the war, they would bring with them their military issued aviator sunglasses with them.

Soon, the police followed suit and their officers started to pick up the sunglasses and made it the official item which were worn around police departments all around America. Not only did the advent of aviators allow for the eyes to protect itself  from the harmful rays of the sun, but it would also prevent those the ones they are attempting to arrest from being able to see through their eyes. Furthermore, they are then assisted by allowing their eyes time to adjust from the natural sunlight then when they suddenly raid the darker rooms when they enter the buildings. This brief moment of relief would prevent the sudden shock to felt in the eyes which could cause a temporary blindness. This is dangerous because the police officer would be put at a sudden disadvantage whenever they would storm any building. This was once again another fashion trend the Hollywood producers have picked up on and began applying to the movies they are selling which contributed to its rampant use among the uniformed officers.

Pink Aviator Sunglasses: Hollywood Made it Viral

Because of the strong fascination with the style, plenty of Hollywood producers would make their leading men and even the women wear the iconic sunglasses even when they are off the set and especially during the award shows or simply taking a vacation out of town.

Today, the style has been adopted by other factions of the fashion industry. It simply took a simple reimagining of the glasses by changing colors. Now, the professional-looking pair of sunglasses mostly meant for uniformed personnel have different shades and gave birth to an array of choices that would not only be fashionable but functional.

The market for younger ladies has taken a special liking to the pair of iconic sunglasses and with colors that ranged from plain black to light pink.

How To Wear Pink Aviator Sunglasses

Like any pair of sunglasses, the shape of the head gets a special mention whenever trying on a new look while putting them on. Sadly enough, not every head shape would look good while wearing these pair of sunglasses. However, it does not mean that one should give up. There are other versions of the iconic teardrop-shaped sunglasses which would allow one to make sure that he or she would not look silly while wearing them.

When you are wearing aviator sunglasses, the first thing that often comes to mind is how large they are and how they should look fine or your entire look would be ruined. Because of this confidence is very much the key. Try to look as normal and as unaffected as possible. While you want people to notice the glasses, it would be a terrible idea if the glasses are the only thing that they are noticing especially if it does not help that the glasses do not work for the head shape that you have.

Another consideration you have to take into account is the shirt that you are wearing. Thanks to Tom Cruise’s Top Gun, we have a general idea on the kinds of tops that we can wear with the famous sunglasses. A plain whiteshirt would be fine if you do not mind making the glasses the highlight of your look. The leather jacket almost always go well with aviator glasses so owning one would not be a bad idea.

Pink Aviator Sunglasses: Poshing it Up

As mentioned, the aviator sunglasses experiment made a lot of versions of the sunglasses that truly made it explode in the fashion world. One such look is the Pink Aviator Sunglasses which picked up the cool demeanor of the original teardrop shaped spectacles and the color which has become the international symbol for everything chic and sassy. Combining the two gave birth to the kind of glasses that one would wear that says, I am pretty but I mean business. Because they are lightly tinted, it will not hide the real shape of your eyes and will instead accentuate the shape of your skull and tie it with the look that you have for your hair. A pony tail would do but a shorter one which is a bit fuzzy or completely straight is fine too.

You do not find a happy life. You make it.

That’s the biggest lesson that grief has taught me. If I just wait around to be happy again, I’ll die sad.

You don’t get through grief and come out the other side. That’s not how it works. You learn how to grow around it like a tree grows around a rock that’s in the way. You don’t wait for the rock to move. Cause it’s not gonna.

Choose happy. And then make it happen.

This little guy always asks to help when he sees me cleaning the house, washing the floors, doing laundry, or emptying the dishwasher. That’s what I love about Montessori parenting - it allows kids to do big jobs and in turn makes them eager to help!

He was over the moon when we gave him the @lovevery floor mop that actually works! He uses it daily now. The mopping pad is machine washable and you can refill the fluid container on it. I usually just do water and a drop of essential oils because he loves it when everything smells clean! 😜

Definitely recommend! If you want to grab this mop for your little helper, it’s in the Storyteller Play Kit from Lovevery for 3 year olds.

Today was my due date for Dylan. Considering he w Today was my due date for Dylan.

Considering he was my 6th child, it's possible he would have been here by now. It’s been extra hard for me this week.

Despite my best efforts to be strong and stay positive, I am completely brokenhearted. I’m just being honest. I could pretend I’m fine, but that doesn't do me or anyone else any good to be dishonest about the pain of miscarriage or the grief that comes with losing a child.

My heart is completely shattered from having an empty womb and an empty nursery. An empty bassinet in the corner and unused tiny newborn outfits, all washed, folded, and ready… for nothing.

It makes me physically sick to my stomach when I think about it all and I can't even fathom how I got here. How did I get here?

This isn't how it's supposed to be! I should be holding a newborn right now! It’s so unfair.

In an instant, my baby was gone and there was nothing I could do to change that.

It doesn't matter how much time passes or what else happens in life, I will always miss him. My heart with always long for my baby.

Those who haven't experienced loss tell you that "Don’t worry! Things will get better, just focus on the positive!" but people who actually know this grief and what it actually feels like to lose a baby, won’t tell you that. They know this hard road. They understand that unfortunately you don't just “get over it.”

The grief doesn't just go away, even if you try to ignore it, it's still there. Like the sun. You don’t have to look at it to know it’s there. You can turn your back on it but it will still warm your skin.

The grief from losing a child is unbearable.
It is unpredictable.
It is unforgiving.
It is relentless.
It is all-consuming.
And it completely shatters you when you don’t expect it.

You don’t get over it. You don’t forget. You simply learn to live with it. And I’m learning to live with it every day.

It’s been 137 days I’ve had to live without my baby.

Lord Jesus, please… hold me extra tight tonight.
