Nursing Covers: She Shawls
The first shawl I reviewed was from “She Shawls”.
She Shawls are an absolute must have for nursing moms. They allow you to discreetly breast feed in restaurants, stores, malls, church, or wherever you go. She Shawls are convenient and fashionable enough to wear for any occasion.
All nursing shawls are hand made with high-quality, breathable cotton material. They come in a wide variety of colors and patterns to match your unique personality. You can design your own nursing shawl or choose from an assortment of featured designs.
Most women just throw an old blanket over their shoulder to nurse, but with this nursing shawl, you can easily and discreetly nurse and still be fashionable. These particular shawls are similar to a poncho. I found the opening in the neck to be roomy and easy to slip on. And with the wide selection of prints and colors, you are sure to find something that suits your style.
They are a must-have accessory for all nursing moms and I recommend them!
It must be a cultural thing for mothers to cover up while breast feeding. I have never seen anything like this in the UK or anywhere in Europe. Its so easy to be discreet without an expanse of fabric!
I received something like this as a gift. It was nice to have, but I never would have paid the extra money for one when a receiving or baby blanket worked just fine. Being fashionable just wasn’t something I cared or thought about about when it came to feeding my daughter I guess.
How I wish it were true that nursing mothers everywhere could feed their children and not be made to feel they were somehow being inappropriate. Since we live in the real world however, I’d like to say that one of the best nursing cover up looks I’ve ever seen, was when an artist friend simply used a long, rectangular scarf draped around her neck. It would have looked fabulous with or without the baby nursing underneath!
This is so not a must have accessory!!! I BF my daugher fo 28 months without one!!! Baby covers nipple and lower breast, t-shirt covers upper. Now, if a woman is more confortable BF with a cover, fine…I suppose this is a good idea. But the only “must have” for breastfeeding is breasts!!!
P.S. I am quite in the real world, if Toronto counts!! I can honselty say in my over 2 years of nursing I never got a dirty look or was made to feel like I was being inappropriate.
These nursing covers look great! I should really get one for myself. And maybe one for my friend who just had a baby.
